Suicide bomber killed at least ten people, according to a reverse image search.

If I had to guess, I'd say the soldier was threatening the man because it was "his people" that did this, and thought taking pictures to be disrespectful.

Or the guy could've just been standing too close for all I know.

Do the mods allow gore here? I guess I'll find out.

>Most of those men either didn't survive the battle or ended up dying in Russian POW camps

It's kinda surreal looking at pics of people who you know are doomed but they didn't know yet.

Why did the reds win?
>>
>>30590766

Probably the latter, you don't exactly want any random schmuck who could also be Taliban rolling up on a bunch of casualties in critical condition.

lack of unified opposition, the moderates hated the bolshevieks, and the Tsarists hated them, but also each other. Admiral Kolchek also got betrayed so that didn't help. Wish Japan had intervened on behalf of the Whites.

Reminder that in the opening day of The Somme, more men were killed than the entirety of The Vietnam War which lasted 11 years.
The Somme lasted another 141 days...

Sweet Jesus that video...

Buddy of mine is a crime scene tech for police. He said that he attended a ballistics course where they did a lot of work on wound ballistics and stuff.

He said that tthe boring Federal factory science geeks stated that the projectile must be traveling over 2200 fps at time of impact it will cause the tearing associated with permanent wound cavity.

This is only a very blunt explanation. He went into ballistic coefficient, sectional density, bullet design, bullet construction and a shit ton of boring math.

Basic rule is that if you want to stop some fucker, shoot him with a rifle.

WW1 was the most violent thing the mankind has ever had to experience in my opinion. It was the ultimate physical form of mankind's hate, anger, and willingness to kill the enemy at whatever means necessary.

Too bad how horrific it was has been for the most part forgotten by the masses or they just don't care to know about what happened back then.
>>
>>30591764
what? Total dead of the vietnam war: 1,484,000–3,886,026 (accoriding to wikipedia).

now i guess the opening day of the somme was a giant loss of life but not that much.

To be fair, there have been far more horrific and brutal human conflicts, WW1 was the first time that warfare was done on an industrial, and assembly line scale. It was such an efficient process that politicians and other people had to step in and say "holy fuck, killing machines have become so efficient that we need to now make laws of war so this doesn't get completely out of hand and end up on our own doorstep"

This is multiplied by even more ridiculous magnitudes in modern times. For example, a friendly fire incident in WW1 would be 1 man killed, several wounded. In WWII, 3 men killed, several wounded. In Vietnam, 5 men killed, several wounded, and 1 vehicle disabled. Today, 27 men, 3 dozen wounded, 2 vehicles destroyed, and 1 vehicle disabled, platoon combat ineffective. Killing machines are just like any other machines. As time goes on, machines become more efficient at what they are designed to do. Just look at some Apache videos, those monsters literally can turn a platoon sized element of soldiers, and a coloum of armored vehicles into dogfood and scrapmetal in seconds
>>

>Apache

I know this was just an example, but our infantry AA has probably leveled the ground a lot more than WW1, desu war is just more advanced now, to the point that I would argue that killing power against other combatants of a similair equipment level is actually
reduced compared to previous warfare.

We can efficiently counter other enemy elements much better than previous years, provided that we are on a technologically equal footing.
