Hey /k/, /tg/ here.
I recently became a gun owner after my best friend died in a car wreck. After the funeral his wife gave me his guns, since she and his family didn't want them. It's pic related and an ar15. I've already sent out my application for a concealed carry license, so now I'm looking for a holster and belt to eventually carry the pistol.
Do you guys have any particular recommendations? What do you guys use? I'm looking for a leather belt and I'm not even sure what type of holster I'm supposed to get. Do I even need a new belt, or will a proper holster be good enough?
Thanks for any advice.

I'm at work right now with no pics, but it says colt le with some numbers after it. I think the srock and handguard are after market, they look different from what the military uses.

Ok. Any particular holster model from them?

for belts any leather gunbelt is good, I have a Galco SB2.
Hi Powers generally fit any holster designed for a 1911, so you have a lot of options available.
IWB, OWB, leather, kydex, hybrid, shoulder rigs, whatever

Well, it's definitely good to know I have options.
Is there any noticeable difference between the different hilster materials, or is just personal preference/cost?

I have a marked preference for Milt Sparks holsters as well as their belts, both are top quality goods that I heartily recommend.

>Milt Sparks
not him, but care to elaborate? The leather does look really comfy and plush, but how does it wear down?

you dont like the completely identifiable "cccrockkkk" sound they make when something is drawn or inserted into them?
>>30565483
personal preference I think. I don't own any kydex holsters, just leather.
>>30565519
His stuff looks very nice for sure. What holsters are you using?
>>30565649
Ok, I wasn't really sure if plastic might have been worse than leather.

>but how does it wear down?
My father wore his all day everyday for 20 years and when he replaced it gave the old one to a friend who has been happily using it since.

I use a Heritage, which he no longer makes but is almost identical to the Summer Special. I have a friend who has a Criterion, but I'm too much of a skeleton to make that work.
beltman horsehide, flat buckle, 7 hole, reinforced
>only because you said leather
otherwise i use wilderness instructor 1.75 easy fit, combat shooter model
kramer msp paddle

IWB for the Hi-Power. Good brands: Milt Sparks, Crossbreed, Galco. I own first two brands. Don't fool w/shoulder holsters.

Milt Sparks is total sekC, for a more rustic look TT Gunleather is also great and in the same price range. Wait times are just as long, too.
