I dont see much talk of dogs while bugging out innawoods.

All liabilitys aside, an indicator dog with moderate obedience training would be invaluable while moving through the bush or forest.

Im not suggesting attack dogs or anything like that but if your on point and see your dogs ears prick up that gives you the upper hand and surely warrants humping the extra weight of dog chow.

I walk with my dog at night on nature trails close to our house and know when somebody is approaching us as my dog will stop dead, tail will be held out and ears will be pricked up at alert, he doesnt bark.

my dog is pretty good for my house but he is afraid of thunder and fireworks. Distant Gun shots dont seem to bother him but i havent been able to get him to test.

At camp he would be great for keeping guard, keeping me company/warm and attacking intruders. But thats about it

Thats another good point, you would be an idiot to light a fire while bugging out so a dog could keep you warm.

Your dog will still know when somebody is coming before you do?

Attack would be useful.
Just remember dogs are companions though, so don't just throw them under the bus. If ya get your ass jumped and you got nothing else, fido will save your ass.

I'm actually too scared to teach my dog anything attack related. (In my state if a dog attacks an intruder or something they can still put them down).

I have him trained in intimidation though.
Dogs are bros.

I really fucking wish.

I trained him to speak/show teeth with some foreign words. We had some sketchy guy knocking on the door at three A.M. the other night and I gave the commands, made him fuck off pretty quick. Which I'm thankful for since I don't own a gun right now.

>>30554985
shes an awesome pup, picks up new commands in about 5 min and seems to retain them well.
i need to get my pupper a load vest soon, gotta figure out whats up with her leg first though. i think the vet may have fucked it up a bit fixing a torn claw...

>>30555069
>i need to get my pupper a load vest soon,
mine is made by onetigris, its held up great. i would recommend it, it was under $50 iirc.

some of the vests get crazy expensive when you look at LEO/MIL shit
>>
>>30555069
I had a blue heeler when I was a kid.
She got her leg fucked up by a deer. The vet couldn't do anything but her leg wasn't broke. She toughed it out though. Eventually, if we caught her trying to be naughty (We lived in the country then moved to the city, so she thought she could just jump the fence whenever) she'd fake it like her leg hurt.

Your dog will be fine anon.

My dog is all black too. Summer is a bitch here, so after a long day outside he either get's a mud hole or a kiddy pool full of ice. Depends on my mood.

I'm not sure what you could do if you went innawoods with him.

shes not a faker she tries to hide it from us too, and heelers are notoriously stoic about pain so i want to figure it out since shes only 9 months old and shouldn't have a permanent limp for no good reason.

>>30555228
Sorry anon, I didn't mean to imply she's a faker. Just that heelers are resilient. Smart and tough ya know?

Have you talked to a vet about the limp yet?

Also, I'm not sure if mesh clothing would really help with my dog. He's pitch black. It may actually add to the heat.
>>
>>30555337
no worries, we've had dogs that do that kind of trickery.
we're trying to deal with the vet now but they want to do xrays and some other shit that comes up to $400 for something that only started after they took the bandages off, makes me think they may have put them on too tight and caused some damage.
>>
>>30555380
Wow. That's pretty lame.
You should try speaking with other vets.

Sometimes they're willing to cut their throats a little. Just because they may know other vets are kinda shitty. It helps build reputation/recommendations. Just explain the story.

The only negative I could think about was making it easier to track you or giving your position away. But a well trained dog probably wouldn't increase the risk much since most people are easy enough for someone to track or spot if they know what they're doing, very few of us are Crow hunter tier innawoods motherfuckers who can just leave little sign.

What about them herding dogs? Exceptionally intelligent and athletic. Pretty good for going innawoods.
>>
>>30554392
dog will be deaf if you shoot a lot
>>
>>30556031

I normally hunt up creeks so will most likely be doing that while bugging out.

>>30556040

This is where the get behind command comes in and hopefully not shooting since the dog has alerted me so we can hide or get out of dodge.

That's really cool. It helps that the dog's fur is a natural camo as well, so the uncovered spots are still hard to see.

Now how to use ghille dogs them innawoods? A normal dog can keep watch and track animals. Ghille dog can sneak behind enemy lines and drop a small nightingale device for distraction

Was your fishing? I want to get mine DNA tested. Everyone keeps saying the Dingo in her lets was bread out long ago but mine fishes, eats berries off the bush, and just acts like a friendly wild dog. He doesn't make a sound ever and usually about a 1/4 mile or so before I see the people his hair on his neck noticeably stands up. When I leave him at home for a while he hides behind my couch as if "the alpha left and I'm hiding from predators." I got him from an actual cattle farm when their heeler a had puppies. She even gave me some papers on him but it's UKC not AKC.
