What does /k/ think about this gun? Is it just another deagle?

Why don't you do some research and form your own opinion like a fucking adult?

Did you think about that before you decided to shit up the board with another pointless Five-seveN thread?

I bet you didn't.
>>
>>30535634
It's just Marisa bait.

Is this bait?

>Plastic
>limited ammo options
>brass case design and caliber characteristics potentially limit reloadability
>sensitive and fragile complex internal mechanisms
>Plastic
>Complex internal mechanisms severely restrict the average user/owner to breakdown/disassemble for more in-depth cleaning and maintenance
>>
>>30535684
>plastic
I'm getting tired of this meme. I'm not speaking for this gun in particular, but whenever someone refers to polymer as "plastic", its a good assumption that they're b8ing.
>>
>>30535676
Yes. It's summer.
>>
>>30535684
>plastic
Incorrect. The frame is polymer, controls are polymer, and the slide -cover- is polymer. The structural components of the slide are metal, as is the barrel, sights, springs, hammer, pins, etc.

>limited ammo options
Incorrect. There are -many- ammo options. More than 9mm, as far as versatility. With 9mm you pretty much have FMJ, JHP, or frangible. With 5.7 you have FMJ, JHP, V-Max, frangible, fragmenting (Varmint Grenade), etc. Any .224 bullet is a 5.7 bullet.
Oh, you mean number of brands that sell the ammo? Irrelevant when there are so many types available from the current manufacturers.

>limited reloadability
If you are inexperience, yes.

>sensitive and fragile internal mechanisms
Not really.

>Plastic
See above.

>Too complex for me to break down
Detail stripping should be left to a gunsmith or an experienced owner. Just like any other weapon.

Ive held and shot the fucking gun, you're not telling me it isnt hilariously covered in plastic polymer; say in comparison to a Sig. by the way, polymer is a type of plastic dipshit
>limited reloadability
FN literally recommends you do not reload the ammo you fucking mong. its just not a good idea
>>
>>30536066
Yeah, the barrel is made of plastic, and the bullets are cardboard.

It is 100% undetectable by metal detectors, as there is no metal. The rounds are caseless.

>>30536086
Every gun manufacturer recommends you don't reload or use reloads.

>>30536168
You butthurt, weaboo?
>>
>>30536168
You're a dipshit if you dont think theres a reason most people, not just FN, dont recommend trying to reload 5.7
Of course since you thought polymers werent plastic I kind of already knew that
>>
>>30536195
No, just amused that people seem to think the Five-seveN is made of some wonder plastic than can hold up to hundreds of thousands of rounds without metal components. If it were, it would be an engineering marvel.
>>
>>30536222
Quote where I said that polymer is not a form of plastic.

Most reloaders aren't experienced enough or have good enough equipment to reload 5.7 well. If you are poor or inexperienced, don't do it. Its pretty simple.
>>
>>30536224
I never claimed it was "fully plastic", but you said yourself that it was "mostly metal" which is a flat-out lie, dipshit.

Stay mad, furfag.
>>
>>30536236
>>30535773
>>plastic
>Incorrect. The frame is polymer, controls are polymer, and the slide -cover- is polymer
Stay mad ass fag
>>
>>30536251
The primary components are metal.

Barrel, spring, hammer, slide, slide frame rails, take down pin, firing pin, sights, extractor, loaded chamber indicator, slide lock, etc. The only primary components that are polymer are the mass of the frame and the magazine, just like on a Glock, Steyr, M&P, modern Sig, HK, etc.
>>
>>30536280
Using the correct term =/= saying that it is not plastic. I knew you would quote this, and you fell right into my trap.

>"Hurr, load bullets into the clipazine faster"
>"I am loading the cartridges as fast as I can"
>"Hurr, you said the gun doesn't shoot bullets"
>>
>>30536283
Except those guns arent shit
>>30536306
You're statement was in contrary to the mostly plastic claim, you definitely did this to assert the idea that the gun isnt plastic, which it is. you seem to take some sort of insult to the idea of the gun being called plastic and by "using the correct term" you can cool your assblastedness over the fact that the gun is plastic, dont even pretend like you werent
>>
>>30535773
>If you are inexperience, yes.
Literally how do you reload it then
>>
>>30536306
>correct term
plastic is the correct term, dipshit
>>
>>30536354
Like any other cartridge, you buy a set of dies, the appropriate primers, powder, some boolits, and a manual? 5.7 isn't recommended for inexperienced reloads since it's a fairly small casing, with fairly small boolits, with fairly narrow windows for pressure.
>>
>>30536354
Get experience loading easy calibers, then reload 5.7 and always double check your loads until you are good at it.

>>30536340
But it isn't plastic. It has significant metal parts. In fact, most of the important parts are metal. Are you using your brain?

Also, the Five-seveN is better. It is more accurate than most of the others I mentioned, has more capacity, is lighter, just as reliable if not more so.
>>
>>30536386
It is universally accepted accross the firearm industry that such products are referred to as polymer. Polymer pistols. Polymer magazines. Polymer sights. Polymer grips.
>>
>>30536086
>polymer is a type of plastic dipshit

Hi.

I only came into this thread to laugh at you. It's the exact opposite.

Polymers include ThermoPLASTIC polymers, ThermoSETTING polymers and Elastomers.

Between thermoplastics and thermosetting polymers, the difference is whether the polymer strands cross-link with each other, preventing them from separating (melt) when subject to heat.

Thermosetting polymers can have similar strength/weight ratios as steel.
>>
Either it's way too much plastic for a $1200 gun.

>>30536407
How are you going to replace the dry film lubricant that they out on the brass which is necessary for the guns to extract properly?
>>
>>30536462
That film is to aid feeding in the P90 magazine. People have stripped it and reported no functionality issues.

If you don't want to strip it, tumble in simple green, and the coating will last the lifetime of the case.
>>
>>30536441
>it's way too much plastic for a $1200 gun.
The price of firearms isn't based on how much metal goes into it, dipshit. It's based on quality and what manufacturer creates it. The HK Mk23 has a poly frame and it costs about $2k.
>>
>>30536487

Not to mention that manufacturing molds is actually extremely costly.
>>
If it was $500-$600 less then you might have a fun range toy.

There's no way that thing is worth what they are going for.

Just like that God awful Desert Eagle POS.
>>
>>30535697
>>plastic
plastic , polymer. call it what you want. it looks like a plastic toy and feels like a plastic toy.
may or may not have any impact on its performance.
but i don't like [plastic looking plastic feeling shit.
polymer frame pistols like the Glock don't bother me though.
No it wasn't meant as bait

>>30535773
>>30535773
>>Too complex for me to break down
Yes, I have seen detailed informative video reviews from owners/users of this gun on YT.

It is basically prohibitive to strip it down any further than removing the slide from the frame.
>take it to a gunsmith to get any further
Because it is either too easy to damage or too difficult to reassemble.

Fuck all that.

I mean maybe I would be interested in a 5.7 if it came in some simple, reliable platform like a P226
>>
>>30535773
>Detail stripping should be left to a gunsmith or an experienced owner. Just like any other weapon
>Detail stripping should be left to a gunsmith or an experienced owner. Just like any other weapon
>Just like any other weapon

lolno.
most of my rifle/pistols i can strip completely down (if i feel the need) and no fucks given. no harm no foul. The 5.7 is a whole different situation.

>>30536222

Plastic is a polymer, not the other way around. Some of these summerfags haven't even taken 10th Grade Chemistry yet.
>>
>>30536478
Anything else I should know? They seem finnicky as shit
>>
>>30536566

The Desert Eagle is at least highly entertaining. I found the FiveSeveN to be extremely underwhelming when I tried one.
>>
>>30537319
This is true. I stand somewhat corrected.

well the first gen slide is welded from two pieces ....

Still saving for a 57 pistol and SBR p90. Gods that will be a glorious day.
>>
I finger fucked one today at the fun store for the first time. Had no idea the slide was plastic too. Weird.
>>
>>30536717
Literally nothing about it is finnicky.

You don't have to clean it, it will just run whatever you feed it.
>>
>>30535626

There's nothing wrong with deagles.
>>
>>30535697

>B8! OMG B8! HURRRR EVERY1 HEZ B8INGGGGG!

If you actually thought he was baiting, you would ignore him. Next time, if you actually think he's just trolling, why don't you report him for rule violations and keep your dumb fuck comments to yourself?
>>
arent certain 5.7 cartridges banned cause its AP?
thats what i heard anyways
>>
>>30539558
No 5.7 ammo is banned.

SS190AP is voluntarily restricted by FN. You can buy second hand SS190AP all day long, legally.

Elite Ammunition sells multiple loads that punch through multiple IIIa Kevlar panels back to back with ease, and they are all legal as well.

Even the store shelf budget plinking ammo 40gr American Eagle penetrates level II Kevlar.
>>
iv always thought they were pretty cool, people shit on it cause "overpriced .22 magnum" but there are lots of rounds out there that can be classified as .22
like .223
