Did I fall for the meme /k/? Also Eye protection/ glasses general. What do you guys wear?
Eye protection is like $20, how did you fall for a meme of keeping your vision safe?
>>30467751
I'm pretty sure he means the meme of buying $100 eye pro vs $10 pairs. Personally I'd rather be safe than sorry after seeing someone have a m249 blow up a round in their face.
I just wear my regular seeing glasses when shooting.
I have two pair of shooting glasses in my range bags for when I take friends.
I've had the same $7 Walmart pair for almost a decade now.
>>30467743
I shoot a lot of steel targets and consider eye protection mandatory.
I have a few cheapy sub $10 clear glasses to loan out, and some ESS sunglasses that are ansi z87.1 that I most often use.
>>30467800
$100 sunglasses are nice though. I miss my Wiles Xs. Those were amazing glasses and I looked like a badass wearing them.
>>30467832
Ive been looking at Wileys, are they worth it? They look really nice. I'd like to use them as sunglasses, that also offer functionality at the range
>>30467832
Not much of a sunglasses person but I'd rather keep dedicated eyepro and fancy shades separate since most eye pro makes people look like tools or offers less coverage

Question for people who wear Rx glasses
Anyone have a suggestion on who/where I could get nice quality Rx eye pro?
I just wear Oakley straight jackets. They are ansi rated and active duty gets huge discounts on Oakley SI
Smith Aegis Echo, comfy and quality protection. Plus it came with pink tint replacement lens. Worth the cost.
>>30467743
Buy a pair that can double as fashionable UV sunglasses. Duh!
>>30467886
I got some from a marine for like $2. They are decent sun glasses, but the glass keeps popping out.
>>30467886
They work great for me, I used them throughout my entire deployment. Those little foam gaskets work great to keep sand and shit out of your eyes.
>>30468643
Wiley X. Oakley works too but I think they look like the international symbol of douchebaggery.
I have Oakley Half-Jackets, Revision Sawflys and ESS Profile NVG's.
>>30468898
Thanks. I'll check em out
>>30468889
They always fog up for me, but I might be pulling them too tight.
Just my aviators
i liked wiley X, but using US standard issue, oakley m frame 3.0 prices are not totally retarded
their Z87 rated aviators look decent
>>30467800
Price doesn't dictate quality. There are plenty of glasses out there (Oakley) that are $100 and are not ansi z87+ rated. You can get z87+ glasses at Walmart for less than $10

>What do you wear?
The same ones i do for when im chipping slag after welding, simple plastic protective glasses that cost 5$ at every depo or construction store.
Because let's be honest, if anything is coming at you faster then flying spent brass, it's because you are down range or your gun fucked up and exploded. Both of wich you would be needing metal plated to have any level of protection from.
>>30469898
>if anything is coming at you faster then flying spent brass
So you've never had a detached jacket come back at you?
>>30467743
I wear Smith and Wesson sunglasses.
Pic related - I'm up in the Great White North.
>>30467743
I wear my old M-Frame Heaters from when I played baseball. Thinking of buying some clear lenses though so I don't look like I'm trying to imitate that tacticool Euro YT cunt.

It's not hard op
>>30467743
Nothing wrong with buying quality sunglasses that double as eye protection. Eg. Wiley X, Oakleys

Catch you later.

So what pair can protect my eyes both from debris and uv? And won't break the bank?
>>30467743
WHo has the link for those "super sekrit navy seulz" spectacles they were pushing around 2 years ago. I think they were ~$60, and supposedly not supposed to be selling them to the general public. It was kinda gimmicky and designed toward seniors, but still....

>What do you guys wear?
ESS Crossbow/Suppressor kit.
Just got tired of fucking around buying cheap ass $10 3M's that were "fogproof". Spent $60 on a 3 lens kit and got done with it.
