Eye protection is like $20, how did you fall for a meme of keeping your vision safe?

I'm pretty sure he means the meme of buying $100 eye pro vs $10 pairs. Personally I'd rather be safe than sorry after seeing someone have a m249 blow up a round in their face.

I just wear my regular seeing glasses when shooting.

I have two pair of shooting glasses in my range bags for when I take friends.

I've had the same $7 Walmart pair for almost a decade now.

I shoot a lot of steel targets and consider eye protection mandatory.

I have a few cheapy sub $10 clear glasses to loan out, and some ESS sunglasses that are ansi z87.1 that I most often use.

$100 sunglasses are nice though. I miss my Wiles Xs. Those were amazing glasses and I looked like a badass wearing them.

Not much of a sunglasses person but I'd rather keep dedicated eyepro and fancy shades separate since most eye pro makes people look like tools or offers less coverage

Question for people who wear Rx glasses
Anyone have a suggestion on who/where I could get nice quality Rx eye pro?

I just wear Oakley straight jackets. They are ansi rated and active duty gets huge discounts on Oakley SI

Smith Aegis Echo, comfy and quality protection. Plus it came with pink tint replacement lens. Worth the cost.

They work great for me, I used them throughout my entire deployment. Those little foam gaskets work great to keep sand and shit out of your eyes.

Price doesn't dictate quality. There are plenty of glasses out there (Oakley) that are $100 and are not ansi z87+ rated. You can get z87+ glasses at Walmart for less than $10

Because let's be honest, if anything is coming at you faster then flying spent brass, it's because you are down range or your gun fucked up and exploded. Both of wich you would be needing metal plated to have any level of protection from.

WHo has the link for those "super sekrit navy seulz" spectacles they were pushing around 2 years ago. I think they were ~$60, and supposedly not supposed to be selling them to the general public. It was kinda gimmicky and designed toward seniors, but still....
