>>

So ive got an ar-15 with a bullet button. What happens now? I'm sure as hell not turning my shit in or making it featureless.
>>
How would this effect online interstate ammo sales? Hell, is it time to open an ammo store on this side of the California border?
>>
>>30467642
Expost facto motherfucker.

You beat the clock. Your gun is legal and always be legal because laws cannot be applied retroactively.
>>
>>30467652
Now illegal in California.

As is importation from other states.
>>
>>30467639
falsely reporting lost/stolen guns is now illegal
>>
To all non-California bros, I have a question.

What should we fucking do? None of you want us in your states, but we have no where left to go or we supposedly end up in prison. There's nothing we can do at this point.
>>

You realize they just banned possession of hi-caps in this legislation right? Even for grandfathered in users.

A lot of his reasons for vetoing the bills he did was because it would hinder law abiding citizens. But then why did he sign the bills he did, they hinder law abiding citizens the most. The logic doesn't make sense.

it makes possession of a unregistered assault weapon a crime and makes a bullet button AR an assault rifle. might as well put the old mag release back on.

If you actually vote for Libertarian/Republican candidates, please do move to a swing state. Your vote won't matter in California. However, a Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico or even Texas soon enough could use your vote to stem the blue tide.

Also, if the type of people leaving California are white, law-abiding and producers for society, all that will be left there is a heaping pile of shit. At which point, maybe people will realize the failure of liberal politics.

Or maybe the liberals will migrate east soon after as well and fuck things for the rest of the country as well. Who knows.
>>
>>30467679
YOU DO NOT ALLOW THIS, AND FUCK ANYONE WHO SAYS TO DISOWN YOUR STATE

We are all Americans, we are all in this together. We DO NOT abandon our countrymen, nor sit idly by and watch as their rights are trampled. California is just as American as New Hampshire or Arizona, and just because some statist communists are in power there does not change this.

Everyone here needs to contact their representatives, write to the NRA and similar organizations. If they wont do anything, you guys need to start your own committee, that actually fucking will.

Take cards from their playbook, tell your friends and neighbors about how this isnt fucking working months from now when it inevitably doesn't fucking work and crime stays the same or increases.

When one of you is inevitably arrested and charged with a high crime from having a weapon, publicize this to the best of your ability. Explain to the useful idiots in your society that the issue isnt left versus right, but STATE versus US.

Daily reminder that in cases of conflicting statements, Federal Law trumps state law, hence this whole thing is completely illegal per our constitution.

Its also probably a good idea to read books like "Resistance To Tyranny" and "Understanding 4th Generation Warfare" for educational purposes, just in case things actually kick off over there for some reason, although I dont and never would condone anything in those books being done here.

Faggot here.*

Don't speak for those of us who want out of the shithole that your polluted, defective mindset has created.

Shootings are a mental health issue; notice how all the mass shootings started up once psychological institutions mostly stopped being a thing?

Also the rate of shootings- not just 'mass' shootings- has plummeted steadily since 1990 nationwide, even in places where gun laws have loosened,

Also a mass shooting isn't a 'mass' shooting if it's less than 5-10 people, so stop trying to redefine a mass shooting as when 'more than one person is shot'.

I don't know about you but I'd rather have 10 or so San Bernadino-esque shootings a year than 8,000 random gun homicides.

360 dead or wounded a year, versus 8,000 dead.

But since the latter looks scarier on the news, you impotent asshole, I'm sure you'll claim you want the former then you'll point to it on the news and shriek and cry in terror.

Do the world a favor and just kill yourself. You aren't contributing anything to society. You aren't contributing anything to your relatives. You are a cancer stripping the rights of about 30 million people.

Every death caused by someone wanting a gun but being unable to get one in this state is on your and your ilk's hands.

Yes. Your options come Jan 2017 are to configure it to be featureless, install something like an ARmaglock, or register it as an AW.

You won't stop any shootings with this and you know it.

So, anybody in Sacremento call the FBI to make sure NICS is up to the task of running a background check every time anyone buys ammo in Cali?

Crash that system and who knows who will get a gun when their 72 hour waiting period expires.

Pirates.

Or suppose someone decides to go on a shooting spree from a boat. Of course, it would be pretty hard, it would be a shot in the dark just trying to guess what type of gun would be well suited, as there sure as hell aren't any guns designed for use around around water, except some crippled, primitive, science-project-level flechette shit, but, seriously, anything could happen! You need to be ready.

Then just keep a spare normal maglock for SHTF, and just deal with that shitty new lock for going to range.

But unlike with the Veto'd "You have 5 days law", this time they have to prove you actually didn't lose the gun or illegally sold it instead of really losing it or having it stolen.

The other law meant telling them it was lost in a boating accident got you jail cause you illegally didn't tell them. Now they have to trudge the lake hard enough to prove you didn't, or get a warrant and find your hiding spot.

http://www.mercurynews.com/california/ci_30080331/list-gun-bills-signed-vetoed-by-gov-jerry?source=pkg

List of Bills Vetoed/Signed respectively:

>Passed

Senate Bill 1446, authored by Sen. Loni Hancock, D-Berkeley, bans possession of ammunition magazines that hold more than 10 rounds.

SB 1235, authored by Senate President Pro Tem Kevin de León, D-Los Angeles, regulates the sale of ammunition by requiring background checks.

SB 880, authored by Sen. Isadore Hall, D-South Bay, and AB1135, authored by Assemblyman Marc Levine, D-San Rafael, ban "bullet buttons" that make it easy to detach magazines.

Assembly Bill 1511, authored by Miguel Santiago, D-Los Angeles, limits the lending of guns to family members who have not completed background checks.

AB 1695, authored by Assemblyman Rob Bonta, D-Oakland, blocks people who have knowingly made false reports on the loss or theft of a gun from possessing firearms for 10 years.

>VETOED

AB 1674, authored by Assemblyman Miguel Santiago, D-Los Angeles, limits the number of long guns Californians can purchase to one a month -- a limit that now applies to handguns.

AB 2607, authored by Assemblyman Phil Ting, D-San Francisco, expands the group of people who may request a gun violence restraining order to include mental health workers, employers, co-workers and school employees.

SB 894, authored by Sen. Hannah-Beth Jackson, D-Santa Barbara, requires the reporting of a lost or stolen gun within a few days.

AB 1673, authored by Assemblyman Mike Gipson, D-Carson, aimed to eliminate the proliferation of so-called "ghost guns," which are manufactured at home and currently don't carry serial numbers.

AB 1176, authored by Cooper, places a measure on the November ballot to amend Proposition 47 by classifying the theft of a firearm as a felony even if the value of the gun is less than $950. (A similar measure will be on the statewide November ballot.)

Things that will happen now:

1. your guns now die with your if you happen to live in CA.

2. RAW will be sent out beginning of Jan 1, 2017. This means you need to register whatever AR you own as an Assault Weapon. This also means that you can remove the bullet button and put in a normal mag release. You can also register up to 5 30+ round magazines for said AR. So be sure to do this before they close the registration deadline on December 31st 2017.

3. buy your ammo in bulk.

This bill would require that any person who, from January 1, 2001, to December 31, 2016, inclusive, lawfully possessed an assault weapon that does not have a fixed magazine, as defined, and including those weapons with an ammunition feeding device that can be removed readily from the firearm with the use of a tool, register the firearm with the Department of Justice before January 1, 2018,

>register the firearm with the Department of Justice before January 1, 2018,

>register the firearm with the Department of Justice before January 1, 2018,

Go fuck yourself. Not the guy you were rrsponding to, but most people don't enjoy exercises in futility. The system is rigged against them, and your response is essentially to go complain to the system that it's rigged in hopes that it will stop being rigged. Kid, just move to any state you feel like. People talk about how they'll fight tooth and nail in their state if it happened, but it generally isn't happening in their state and they are speaking out of their ass.

lowers and register. If that doesn't work, at the very least you'll need to get it "illegal" is a pistol grip and a bullet button to make it "compliant" so add on around 30 bucks per lower on your list if for some reason your local fuck enforcement agency decides it's not salt weapon and can't be registered to dick you. Might even be able to just keep swapping the grip between the lowers and get it all done with with just one grip and bullet button.

Just looked it up, while I wouldn't expect an officer to be clever enough to notice this line, it's also SUPPOSED to be semi auto, but again, just have an upper so you can continue to piss off the officer taking the paper work.

>>
>>30467656
But that's wrong. It's illegal to be in possession after Jan 1, 2017 so after that then you're breaking the law.

Expost facto means they're making something you did in the past illegal.
>>
Will my California legal AR with a bullet button be considered an assault weapon? And if it is can I take the bullet button off?

Falsely reporting lost or stolen guns (AB 1695): The bill would make it a misdemeanor to falsely report a gun as stolen and also ban the person who reports it from buying another firearm for 10 years. Supporters of the bill say it’s an effort to stop people who sell guns on the black market, after buying them legally and then reporting the weapons stolen. SIGNED.

Failure to report lost or stolen guns (SB 894): Falsely reporting a gun lost or stolen would be a misdemeanor with harsh consequences (as mentioned above), but so would not reporting a weapon that has actually been stolen. This bill would fine gun owners who do not report their weapons stolen or lost within five days of when they know or “reasonably should have known.” The first fine would be $100, a second offense $1,000, and a third offense would be a misdemeanor with fines and possible jail time. The Senate has to vote one more time to concur on the bill. VETOED. In his veto message, the governor wrote that he had vetoed similiar measures in 2012 and 2013. "I continue to believe that responsible people report the loss or theft of a firearm and irresponsible people do not," Brown wrote, adding "it is not likely that this bill would change that."

The first one, which applies to stolen guns only, passed.
The second one, which applies to both stolen and lost guns, vetoed.

Once you register it, your rifle is in the same category as the old M16's people already registered. IF you happen to somehow legally have "HI CAPACITY" mags you'd be allowed to use them with a normal mag release cause the registered rifle would be exempt from suddenly being a deadly salt weapon by using the evil magazines

>Unfucked AR-15s now legal.

>>30469005
It's legally as long as it doesn't violate the law. If it's legal, you can go to a gun store and have it registered, which means they background check you and hold it for 10 days. More or less, you're transfering the gun to yourself, yes, it is that stupid. Then you can salt weapon register it when the time comes. That or be smart and tell no one.

Don't listen to those people. Move where you want if you want to move. Take it from my time in Oregon, right or left, anyone you'd want to know doesn't care you're from California. The only ones who moan about it are the dumbest, most backwoods bubbas who are so uneducated that they think the minuscule trickle of California expatriates are "ruining their state," instead of what is obviously their own fellow staties shifting left with a progressive society. These people usually have drawls, or pronounce thing strangely like saying "warsh" instead of "wash."

I save telling people I'm from California until I've judged them, if even then, and the only ones I've seen wrinkle a nose are the ones I've already determined to be worthless. The dumbest of the dumb are those ones who make static over it at the range. Buddy, I'M AT THE GUN RANGE shooting with suppressors, which way do you think I vote? NRA is busy trying to win federal court battles and lock down Congress. They are playing the long game and are still a powerful ally.

Hell if somehow proguns win this election despite shillery's tricks, the now progun Congress can directly pass progun laws that straight up nullify so much of California and other liberal state's bullshit. Without fear of veto.

And the reason they would pass those laws is because the NRA would tell them to as they ALREADY have hundreds of lawsuits against gun control nationwide, and there's no easier way of winning lawsuits besides just passing the laws you need to win.

It was mostly because I was staying with friends so I picked up their habits of not using umbrellas and never bitching about how cold and rainy it is(because I had accepted the state for what it is). People were shocked when I showed them my California ID. Still, I think Portland is too liberal for me so it is off to Seattle for me. Sorry if I touched a nerve. I don't think trans people are evil. But the ideal of the life choice has been perverted by the leftists into being a deviancy that is "accepted" and yet sniggered at.

I guess that what I hate about CA as a whole. It's gleeful, smug hypocrisy in all things.

They know damn well that being gay or trans is something that is a personal choice and the government needs to step the hell out instead of forcing "acceptance". They know the more guns that their citizenry owns the better chance those citizens have at surviving the rampant crime and unrest they've created. The politicians here know it and they choose acts of evil. They have forgotten that they serve instead of rule. And I have no desire to live in their world. I want to get my family out before it burns around them.

I felt like I smoked a bowl of weed and was watching Portlandia when I was in Portland. Legitimate feminist book stores, women straight out of Tumblr complete with purple dyed arm pit hair, and hipsters everywhere.

Seattle is just slightly better imo. Eastern King county is pretty nice. I remember walking in south bend or snoqualmie and feeling like I was a small mid western town except there being nice mountains. Even a cool little gun store next to a good bakery. Open carry is cool in seattle too along with less tumblr people.

I agree which is why when I go out of state I don't tel a soul anything remotely related to California.

>They know damn well that being gay or trans is something that is a personal choice and the government needs to step the hell out instead of forcing "acceptance"

Being trans is not a choice but I guess one could argue that it is a choice to go through with it. As for acceptance, I don't want to force it down people's throats. If you don't want to bake a cake for me well fuck off I will find someone else to take my money. I don't think the government should get involved

I do love guns though. I was going to go to the /k/ california meet up but I had to do shit that weekend that came up unexpected. Oh well, it looks like that something I had to do will be good for moving out of this hell hole.

I can get my gun rights back soonish. shame I have to leave the most beautiful state in the union to do it.

For the record i am a transwoman and I live as such. I said wish I wasn't trans and rather just be a normal cis dude but I got fucked on that.

back to the topic at hand

See this is why I don't even support background checks. The left doesn't stop. They want a full ban on guns despite them saying lets compromise and only do back ground checks. Well it doesn't stop there. They will label you all terrorist or some shit to keep you from owning guns.

May california gun owners die for the sins of the other states. Whenever regressives argue for just background checks and nothing more look at California as an example on what will happen next.

So if we register our ARs as "assault weapons" would we be able to have regular mag releases on them then?

If I bought like 200 stripped lowers and registered them all as AWs would I be able to sell them for absurd prices 5 years down the line?
