I am so erect right now

Why the hell aren't 9mm Commanders more common?
>>

What's the appeal?
>>
>>30466576
>better cartridge
>best general-purpose 1911 size
>American-made
>relatively low price

Also bonus weird chevron serrations, which I'm not too sure about

Otherwise if you want a 9mm Commander now you have to buy a flip gun or one of Colt's new basic 1991s, because they still don't think we want modern features on our 1911s. Other than those two there aren't many options

I'll stick with my dan Wesson
>>
>>30466596
What would the advantage be over something like a USP Compact or Glock 19?
>>
>>30466713
Same as with any other 1911, I guess. Thinner, better trigger, better ergonomics. Mostly a matter of preference when you compare it to other pistols.

Looks hideous compared to their .45 ACP version.

interesting

not a commander, but if i was going for a 9mm 1911 i'd still probably spring for a defender
>>
What do they go for?
>>
9mm 1911's make little sense. They are overly large for the caliber, and even with aluminum frames and abbreviated barrels there are lighter, cheaper options.

Ironically, few options are thinner, which is one of the main concerns for concealed carry, so as far as physical size a commander would be a good option...and if you go full steel, the recoil would be pleasant compared to some plastic fantastic that weighs half.

Oh fucking goddamn I have been waiting for this and was considering sending Ruger emails about this. Love my .45 version, cannot fucking wait.

Though I will say, I wish it had the normal serrations and the wood grips, but the latter can be easily changed.

>Ironically, few options are thinner
The 1911 slide is thin. The grip/handle is just as fat as a double stack pistol.
>>
>>30467592
That's easily fixed with the most of aftermarket grips.

Hell, see the other Ruger Commander. Always loved the way it felt in-hand.
>>
will it take a J&G 1911 Tokarev barrel?
>>
>>30467420
9mm 1911s are awesome. I used to own one and I loved it, best 9mm I've ever had.

of course this is a subjective opinion and I know that
