Is this optic GTG compared to aimpoint?

Or should I just go with a T1?
>>
>>30446768
The Meprolight m21 is close the MRO, you might wanna check that out too
>>
>>30446806
Always thought they were cool. I just prefer a 2MOA dot.
>>
Vortex
>>
>>30447178
Vortex scopes? Sure

RDSs? No.
>>
>>30447274
>RDSs? No.

Test drive one. People are ripping Trijicon RDS off and replacing it with 'em
>>
>>30446768
don't forget to turn the optic on before you go check out that bump in the night
>>
>>30447421
No they're not. Although Vortex does make very good optics

The Trijicon MRO is a great optic OP. I've only shot with one once, but I've researched the fuck out of them and they have nothing but solid reviews.
>>
>>30447421
that's a load of shit.

MRO is, by far, the best RDS I have used, and I have used A LOT, including owning the ENTIRE line of Trijicon red dots and a T2
>>
>>30447454
5 year battery life, fag.
>>
>>30446768
>want the MRO because it seems like the best deal

>it looks like fucking ass
>>
>>30446768
Maybe look at the Sig Romeo 4? Same form factor as the T1 w/ a 2 MOA dot with the option for a 65 MOA ring around it like the EO Tech. Also is way cheaper but still has a really good battery life. There's also a more expensive model that has a solar panel

Only bad thing the MRO has is a slight ~1x magnification.

I don't really dabble in the realm of +$400 red dots, only have a pa micro but I would say the determining factors should be if you want a bigger objective lens compared to the aimpoint micros and you're okay with the 1x magnification.

Check out this video for some good info on it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTrv4T-vPKo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3XyEHSKKRE
>>
>>30448278
what makes it so superior to the micros, in your opinion?
>>
>>30449260
>Sig Romeo 4?

We're talking about optics that aren't being made by Holosun. Completely out of the realm of both Trijicon and Aimpoint.

I like Sig but their optics fucking blow. The only decent thing out of their "electro-optics" line is the X-Ray sights.
>>
>>30446768
The MRO is tits, the slight magnification and tint doesn't bother me at all. The battery life is just a plus.

The aimpoints are good to go.

I think you should get out of your moms basement and check both out then make your decision.

>>30452165
Nobody I shoot with owns an MRO. Might go with aimpoint just for familiarity's sake/track record.

And it's comfy down here, dont be jealous.
>>
I don't understand 1x red dots. Why not just use irons? Is it for people that never got good with irons?
>>
>>30452704
Faster target acquisition. Have you ever used one?
>>
>>30452704
My eyes ain't what they used to be. For me it's easier to pick up the red dot and get on target than trying to peer through a ghost ring.
>>
>>30452704
If you can shoot irons well you can shoot a dot better.

Obviously if you suck with one, you suck with both.
>>
>>30449407

You fags can keep parroting this to defend your asinine pricing but the tests are conclusive
You're a lying, ignorant, mad, apologist faggot

>>
>>30453132
I bought a PA because I didn't feel like paying triple when I could get an optic that works just as well plus a bunch of ammo
And you're the one defending his purchase
You're shitting on PA even though tests show CLEARLY that it holds up the same

You're the kind of guy who is emotionally invested in his purchases so you spend more to make yourself feel better
>>
>>30453193
>"You're just justifying your purchase"
>MFW I havent made any purchases yet

Tell me friend, what's PA's track record? What military campaigns has it served in? I'm interested to know.

Right, now go back to admiring your DPMS AR. Y'know, the one you're convinced is just as good but cheaper than BCM, Spikes, DD etc.

Impulsive, undisciplined faggots like you piss me off.

MRO is gtg
>>
Sperglords...they're everywhere!
>>
>this thread
Holy shit guys.

The T-1 is good to go. It's the industry standard RD and is the best in its field.

The MRO is good to go. Not nearly as proven and looks retarded, but it's by far a reliable and functional red dot that offers a great alternative to the Aimpoint at a cheaper price.

Even the fucking Primary Arms Advanced is good to go if you're a poorfag, it has Aimpoint battery life and has been proven to take a beating greater than any paper puncher tryhard in this thread will ever give it.

Jesus you guys are fucking faggots.
>>
>>30453647

>this butthurt about red dots

trijicon claims ACOG durability and people have been beating them up on YT to substantiate that claim. considering the eotech scandals im fairly certain trijicon wouldnt walk themselves into a similar situation by saying the MRO is durable if it wasnt

>>
>>30453668
I never said they weren't durable you illiterate retard, fuck.It still isn't as proven as the T-1, deal with it.
>>
>>30452704
Because a 1x RDS allows you to shoot with both eyes open and is less dependent upon exact cheek weld. This allows greater tactical awareness and faster target acquisition.

Seriously, shooting skeet (sporting clays) with a RDS on your shotgun almost feels like cheating compared to using the irons. Having both eyes open just makes everything better.
>>
>>30453693

the only thing that needs to be "proven" is its durability which is being proven. the t1 has way too small an aperture for its price anyways

stay mad.

I love my MRO and I like it better than my H-1 so I'd buy the MRO again over a T-1. That said, it hasn't been out for nearly as long nor has it been anywhere near as field tested as the Aimpoint Micros.

But that doesn't take away from the MRO's construction or durability. It just means that it hasn't been out on the market as long. No need to get upset.
>>

I haven't noticed any bit of the fisheye effect with my MRO and the only reason I have an Aimpoint Micro is because the MRO would not sit low enough of my Ultimak rail.

That said, both are fine and this is nothing to get worked up over. Can /k/ just enjoy what they like without shitting on everyone and everything else?

OP here.
I take responsibility for the way this thread went downhill.

I was the one giving that one dude shit for liking PA. I still maintain my opinion, but if some folks wanna use PA optics, and trust em, more power to them.

I've done /k/ a disservice today. My bad.
>>
>>30453915
It's all good. Did you decide on a red dot?
>>
>>30453967
Gonna see if I can get my hands on an MRO, as I understand it has some quirks.

Either way, I found out what I needed to, that the optic is in fact gtg.
>>
>>30453967
Not OP, but I'm going with the MRO
>>
>>30453742
Not that guy, but I've always felt shitty for not being able to shoot irons with both eyes open (could never focus since I shoot irons at like 100 yds mostly). Then when I got my first RDS all of a sudden I could and it was like magic. How do y'all manage to keep both eyes open?
>>
>>30446806
No its not, its way heavier.
>>
>>30447421
I have test drove the Sparc and its shit. Fuzzy as fuck with a dot that is 13in MOA. No fucking thank you. Everything else is either a scope or heavier and not in the same class.

T1 is better. the MRO give you too wide a field of view so you get tunnel vision on the reddot. Open the pics in new windows, and swap between the two. See here:

>MRO

MRO makes you fixated on only what is inside the glass. T-1 gives you more spacial awareness, while leaving you enough room for long distance precision shots. Its just a better overall get-up. Now the question is: T-1 or T-2. Is the +$300 worth the little bit of extra durability and decreased spacial sight picture (bigger silhouette of sight)

I disagree. I prefer the MRO's FoV for faster acquisition but that's just my opinion.

That doesn't mean I dislike the Aimpoint Micro though.

I have both the T1 and MRO, but I keep a vortex 1-6 on my HD rifle. Even though the Razor is 3 times the cost, it is worth every penny.

That same thing applies to the "mountain on top".
>>
>>30454716
I do understand how it works. I own and use both. I just so happen to prefer the MRO. To each their own.
>>
>>30454796
In normal use it feels about the same as any scope.

Whats normal, I would like one I can swing around on a competition range. For most people thats not normal, normal is sitting on a bench rest.

It's the Jerry Miculek signature scope, and he seems to do okay with it.
