So. Is a revolver better for home defense or is a pistol?
>>30441093
depends on preferrence
you learn a different set of skills and buy different equipment for them. you have to do your research before just buying any gun for home/self defense
What a shit thread. Kill yourself.
>>30441093
id say screw both and just get a hand gun
>>30441093
>is a pistol better for home defense or is a pistol
>>30441093
Throw out those shitty pieces of shit. Get yourself 37mm AT gun from WW2 and customise to turn it into handcannon.
>Inb4 "MUH RECOILS WEEE I ONLY SHOOT 9mm AND 5.56x45 WEEEEE"
For the entire history of firearms we went to the stronger and stronger fucking guns, now man up and learn to handle recoil - it's because of limpwristed faggots like you, automatic 40mm handcannons aren't the standard weapon of infantryman yet.
>>30441093
semi-auto has more rounds and less noise
>using .357 magnum for home defense
not only will you blow your attacker away, but also your ears!
>>30441457
>but also your ears
All the better for ignoring cries of "DINDU!" and "GUDBOI"

You can load a good revolver and put it down somewhere secret, somewhere safe, let it sit there for decades, then pick it up and pull the trigger BANG it works.
You can't do the same with an autopistol: those springs wear out when left with tension on them for long periods of time (an unavoidable factor of metallurgy); it may take weeks, but it will happen... and then you have a one-shooter as the magazine springs won't push up as strongly as they need, causing a misfeed on your second round (and you might not even get that first round off, senpai).
>also you don't have to rack the slide on a revolver; just point & shoot (assuming it's not an old-timey manual hammer type).
Revolvers are easier to operate for all people. Not everyone can rack a slide, and that shit bites thumbwebbing if you're not careful. People limp-wrist autos and they misfeed all the time; a revolver requires no firm grip at all, and you can aim easier when you're not clenching.
There are plenty of other reasons....

Learn how springs work before posting this shit
>>30444104
>Revolvers are better because they don't have springs!

> those springs wear out when left with tension on them for long periods of time (an unavoidable factor of metallurgy); it may take weeks, but it will happen.
Oh look, /k/ spouting fuddlore. Why am I not surprised?

Ask yourself this, what police departments issue revolvers still. I have seen plenty of revolvers fail. There is no magic thing that works 100% of the time.
>>30444104
This is the dumbest shit I have read in a long time...and I read the internet all day long.
Ever hear of "Punt gun"? Takes down the attacker and half of your house, very practical
You might have a case for revolvers for carrying, since in a bad situation you don't have to worry as much about having a proper grip to avoid jamming, and there's no slide to get pushed out of battery if shit gets close. In a home defense situation you probably have more of an ability to control where you are if you need to use your gun, so those two advantages don't count for much.

Neither. A Tavor is best. Easy to round corners. High energy. PS90 is OK but your friends will make fun of the weird clip.
Home defense should be handled by an AR15, or AK47, the fuck would you even consider another weapon for? Hand guns are for carry only.
>>30444343
They're too far out in front. Assailant will see you coming around the corner, duck, then knife you. Need a bullpup.
>>30444337
>Tavor
harharhar
Nice looking guns IMHO but I hear their reliability and warranty is shit.
>>30441093
Are u fuckin serious m8
>>30441123
Screw that and just get a gun hand.
>>30444418
Harleys using one in suicide squad and I want one too fuk
Shitposting for get
>>30441093
Neither.
Your primary home defense weapon should be a
* 10.5 inch AR-15 SBR/"pistol"
* With silencer, if you can't afford one: electronic hearing protection
* Quality red dot optics, i.e. Aimpoint
* Tac light
* Sling
* Ready mag/other 2-mag setup (not because you'll need 60 rounds, but because the mag is the one part most likely to fail

We cyberpunk now?
>>30441093
This is one of the better home defense weapons, it allows you to clear entire hallways without even peaking the barrle around the corner
just aim at the wall at an angle and the stream of concentrated death will bounce from wall to wall
I see you, Grimmy-Grim Grim.

Chiappa doesn't even reliably import the moon clips
