Riperino, but at least it might be effective on the underside of a jet.

Also, how may meters did it take to make one karst parka, excluding the liner? Would it be possible for me to get my mitts on a copy of the pattern for some $?

>>30422789
Speaking of ESTPAT, what's the normal weight of a fabric you'd use to make camps? Should I go for 350 GSM or 550? Those were the only two available weights in the pattern I want, so I was just wondering.

That would explain why dispersion is underlayed in white.

Uh, my parkas didn't have liners. Took around 3M per parka. Although some guy posted the pattern already, it wasn't the refined version. I'd appreciate an object more than money. Something small would do it I suppose.

I was fucking with you on the KSOR though, it'll be like impossible to find in the right size anyways, everything I know is slav and by extension relatively expensive. I paid like 200 or so shipped, but I always seem to pay a small premium because of my size being rare as fuck. That's for the jacket, pants, and suspenders though. If you do want to get it though, and manage to find it, know that the neck cover(?) is fucking huge. Soda can for reference, bottom is where the collar of my undershirt is roughly
>>
>>30427941
They also come in multiple levels. VKBO being 1-8 and IIRC KSOR goes from 1-6(?) but don't quote me for that, my suit is a level 4, and my VKBO is demiseason, still need to check if that's 4 or 5

First day in the thread I'm guessing?

Nobody here knows anything more than what can be found with a 5 minute google search.

Hell, most of them don't even bother to read about what they're searching past the search results page and pass this off as "knowledge".

They're a joke to respectable collectors everywhere.
>>
>>30430757
No, I don't.

It's the correct colors and appears to be the right cut. It's not like it's so rare it's impossible that he could have gotten one, and he's found rarer things in the past anyways.

You'd be surprised how much some Belarusian issue stuff looks commercial in it's cut, but the bottom circular strip around the bottom and the slant pockets give it away.

Can't tell is same-fagging, or what. Either way, the Belarusian camopedia page has a good reference for the color schemes, so take it for what you want.

http://camopedia.org/index.php?title=Belarus

Concerning the cut, there have been may different slight changes and different versions over the years, feel free to browse the Belarus IACMC page and compare the cuts. It's either Belarusian or it's commercial, and a picture of any stamps or tags could confirm that. The slavs love making it hard to tell, and allowed some private purchase items to be used, as you can also read here.

http://iacmc.forumotion.com/t3877-commercial-or-private-purchase

If that's not good enough for you, oh well. That's all I got. It's not like there's loads of information about Belarusian stuff out there anyways. I'd love to see what you two could also dig up about it, every bit helps. I don't claim to be some sort of all-knowing surplus buff that is never wrong, so I don't know why you're riding my dick so hard about it.

This is a period accurate set of M1956 web gear. The belt you have is a LC-3 model, not introduced until the late 80's.

Don't take my word for it, but those don't look like issued pants to me.

I would but he's dead and the webpage that contained all his memoirs lost its server hosting. There is literally no way for me to find out because he almost never talked about what he did. From what I could gather years ago when I did get a chance to see his page, he was the Air Force version of security and was at a major air base right at the beginning of the Tet Offensive. Other than that I don't recall anything

>>30438788
How do I tell the difference in belts? He left the uniform but that was it, so I've been piecing stuff together. At least the belt was only 7 bucks...
>>
>>30439008

>>
>>30439050
Not really, my family is weird and everyone stays in contact but is also in a way estranged from each other? I'm not sure, it's definitely not normal though. Growing up I could probably count the number of times I'd seen him and remembered it on one hand. I have better memories clearing out his apartment than I do of him, fuck I never even had his phone number. Same with my grandmother, yet when they each died I found out they both lived within something like 10 miles of me. I'm gonna try to get the server back for his web page but I doubt anything will come of it, so until then all I have is whatever I remember when I dug through his web page

The buckle is the main identifying part, the M56 belts were canvas with a notch/divot style closure, and all the hardware is brass.

The two magazine pouches and the belt in the top left here are M56.
>>
>>30439108
Is there any real identifiers besides the buckles? Or is that really all I've got unless I can feel it up in person or it has a stamp?
>>
>>30439159
A popular belt at the time was also the m44 belt i think is what it is called. Has a brass snap button on the left side for pistol mag pouches. Only adjusts from the right to the left. Post pic of gear and uniform and any patches he had, will help us put together what he wouldve worn.

The buckles are the real identifiers.

Stamps on webbing never last long unless it sat in storage its whole life, even then when it is there it's very hard to read.

Compare to this LC-2 belt, nylon with a plastic buckle. Easy to see the difference.

Only identifying thing on the uniform, seems strange to me that it didn't even have a name tape or pretty much anything. But from what I understand ERDL wasn't issue and was usually bought and just sort of accepted for use, so if I had to guess it must have been bought there and half assed?

Makes sense, it has the U.S Air Force tape at the front and this patch on the left shoulder. It also came with a cap that's really fucking small for some reason, and forever folded down the middle to the point that it's impossible to get straight without tons of work

We have strict regulations on handing back issued cammies. Sometimes they surface on ebay for stupid high prices in shit condition and that's just because they are probably stolen or somehow slipped through the paperwork in returnal of issued gear.

So without personal contacts in the army it's a bretty much no for cheap ones.

I saw this being sold on ebay for the cheap. I havent personally tested the green ones yet, since they are new and ought to be issued next month. The cammies were designed for Afghanistan when we had woodland camo. And then the whole force switched to the latpat. Sometimes it works wonders in dry grass and fall. Winter is passable too, but for summer it is quite bad yeah, and during the night time in full moon you shine like a ghost. I will see to how well the new multi-latpat will work in the summer weather.

IIRC, it was a case of Barracuda (yes, that Swedecuck firm) selling Latvia the rights to the desert version first. Since the Latvian govt. had recently abolished conscription, the military (now focused solely on professional troops going innasandbox) figured that they wouldn't need a woodland version anytime soon.
