I just got a Taurus Tracker is .44 magnum.

I got it as a hiking pistol for bear, moose, and self defense.

I'm looking to replace the factory grips with something that will provide a better grip, while being comfortable, and classier.

The revolver is a medium sized 5 shot with a pretty glossy black finish.

I'm trying to decide on what sort of grip to get. I'm pretty sure I want finger groves, but do I want a square butt or a round butt? Checkering or no checkering? Gloss finish or matte?

I'm doing an M1911 build (my first gun build) from an 80% receiver.

Does anybody know where I can find cheap/halfway affordable pistol parts? My dad suggested Sarco arms (which is close by in Easton, PA) but none of their parts kits are in stock and I have a feeling won't be for some time.

I bought an 80% alluminum receiver for $200 flat, and I'm looking at a slide, barrel, and upper receiver parts kit for $550 on 1911Builders.com (link here https://1911builders.com/collections/slides/products/1911-45-acp-complete-5-ss-slide)

Can I find those parts for cheaper than that? I'm not *too* concerned about quality or durability; I'm not going to use this for much beyond practicing shooting pistols and likely a sentimental piece, but I'd like to not wind up with pieces of poorly machined shit that I have to do hours of fitting to get to work together.

My grandfather is almost on his deathbed and I've been thinking of all his old war stories, so naturally, I wanted to ask /k/ about his guns.

If you need context, I don't have exact dates but he fought for 2 years in a war that lasted from 1948 to 1960, and he would've been 18 (and hence in national service) in 1952, so presumably all weapons mentioned would've been slight improvements on their World War II models.

While I was visiting my grandpa he let me take some of his guns out to one of his local shooting ranges.
I got to shoot a Winchester 30-30 for the first time. Thing is I could only load three rounds +1 chambered.
Now that i read about it online it looks like it should've been able to load at least 6 rounds.
Was there some kind of restrictor inside the tube or was the rifle just fucked up somehow? Are restrictors like that a thing? I know I've heard of having to put them in shotguns when hunting in certain areas.

Does anyone make non-competition recurve risers? I've been looking around enough at getting a bow to know I want a recurve and with removable limbs so I can have one riser be a regular bow and a long bow. All that I find are Olympic or barebow rests and either a shelf with fabric or a small wire finger. Does anyone make a riser that can accept a regular sight and a more usual rest, like the whisker or full containment ones? Got a pest situation; bats, rats and a asshole woodpecker that is terrorizing my suburban neighborhood. The rats can be taken care of w/ the old fashioned traps. Bought a mossy 835 barrel and it included some choke tubes. The long one fits perfectly. The two short ones drop well into the barrel such that I'd never be able to tighten them. Plus the short ones feel really loose like they gave me the wrong gauge.

I don't know anything about chokes, so is this plausible?

Most sites that sell guns have a 20% restocking fee, that's not abnormal. That said, if they fail to deliver after a SUFFICIENTLY LONG TIME (I'd say 3 or 4 weeks from order date) and you decide to cancel, go through your credit card company instead. Say they haven't delivered the item and you want the charge removed. At that point they'll likely remove the charge for you, cancel on your behalf, and go harass the site to give them their money back. It's kinda skeezy I admit, but they have a much better chance of arguing off/avoiding that fee than you do.

Most modern commercial bolt action rifles are Mauser based.

Guys I'm looking for a full metal airgun pistol that doesn't require CO2 or PCP, to practice shooting innahouse.
I didn't intend to toss mad bucks at this but I guess I might consider it.

On the cheaper end, get a Crosman 1377, especially if you're into modding. Tons of upgrades available. Solid metal breech block available from Crosman. Multi-pump, so you can go from mouse-farts up to rabbit killer (with proper shot placement).

I have a question about old planes.

If the gun on an old plane, like a Spitfire, were to jam, then how do you un-jam it? Is there a lever in the cabin that clears the action or something?

It's a Unertl Scope. A few other companies made scopes with external adjustments, their names I do not recall.
Then you can get some reproduction ones, Hi-Lux makes a Malcolm reproduction (and it's not very good) and Montana Vintage Arms makes a Winchester B5 repro and a full length scope repro. US Optics had their SN-9 for a while, but no longer.

I have a question for any Mississippi /k/ommandos

I want to preface this. I am a California refugee. I don't vote Democrat, and I own a metric fuckton of guns.

That being said, I am fleeing this state given the insane gun control laws. In fact, I should be attending Ole Miss for law school this fall.

My question is, how is the gun culture in the state and specifically in and around Oxford? I am looking for good places to shoot, especially longer range places 500+ meters as well as good hunting. I know your gun laws are pretty based, and I am extremely excited for that.

Does anyone here have solid information on any of this stuff?

Like most of what I'm aware of is either C&R/Antique or homemade/will break after one shot stuff.

No, I'm not interested in a discussion of the practicality of something like this, I'm not planning on carrying it or anything, I already have a normal EDC/other guns, I just kind of want a single-shot shotgun pistol; I know 'practically' speaking the easiest way to get something functionally identical is a flare gun + 12ga adapter insert, but I don't want to do that; I want an honest to goodness shotgun pistol.
