The DA trigger pull is crazy heavy. I've never had it jam on me and 9x18 would be adequate for carry.

It's called a "P-64" chambered in 9x18mm Makarov.
Not a "P-64 Makarov".
I'd suggest a bulgy Mak over that, but people seem to like them alright.

The recoil has a bit of a snap to it but nothing crazy. It's accuracy is servicable out to 20 ft I'd say.

I wanted a makarov for years. Thought it was a great looking gun. Then /k/ made me realize what the grips look like and that's all I can see when I look at it now.

Although thats not much of a con, if you switch out springs, or carry condition 3, or just pull the hammer back before you shoot.

Its a good gun for the price.

IT IS NOT A MAKAROV. Quite a few people are mistaken with this often, because of how distributors label it. Its almost exactly a ppk.

I recommend ordering from classic because they have a batch where the import engraving is under the frame in front of the trigger guard. Having the importer mark on the side absolutely destorys the look of the gun cause most of the time they dont give a fuck how it looks, and it can be pretty aweful.

My russian commercial mak seems to be chewing brass somehow, because i'm seeing brass flakes all in the thing when i'm done shooting. I think its scratching against a hump where the feedramp meets the chamber. Anyone else had this problem, or a better idea on whats going on? I'm shooting PPU 9x18 jhp by the way.

In regards to bite, if you have meaty large hands the slide will bite with the stock grips. If the slide the bite, and you feel it hitting u, thats from the stock grip. It has a contact point with web of hand that "scratches" at your hand every shot. You can fix it by either switching the grips out, or smoothing the grip out

I got one last year
fun lil gun but it's a bit snappy and DA is the worst trigger you will ever pull.
Also, dont dry fire it to much. I broke the safety lever on mine, Im assuming it was from dry firing.
Anyone of you faggots know where to buy an replacement Safety lever?

I dont have a polish one to compare. But my bulgy is in great shape.

I have a P-64 from Classic Arms.

It's snappy as fuck.
It's not any lighter than my carry sized p320
The ammo is more expensive

On the plus side I got mine for 220 bucks and it's fun to hand it to friends at the range and giggle saying "hey, fire this thing."

Do not recommend it for carry. Reason being the guns are old as fuck, and I simply do not trust my life to the DA trigger alone, thus having to use the Safety if I want to carry it. It's just not a good carry gun. The DA trigger is like 20 pounds, man. It's brutal.

Practice a lot with it since fucking mag release is not in the best of locations. You will get used to it.

I was at a gun show once and a dude who loves maks was showing me his P-83, basically its a P-64 but better. Everything improved basically. Its my next major purchase. Take a look into it if you feel like it op.

I did this before I found a nice carry gun.

It's a great little gun. The only thing that sucks is the grip mag release. Definitely going to fumble with a spare mag

Other than that I bought a DeSantis Soft tuck holster for the Walther ppk. It fits well but the trigger guard is a little bigger than the walthers.

Carried it for a few months before getting my glock. Not a bad carry

Plus the decocker/ DA/SA trigger is nice to carry one on the chamber with

One of them has somewhat of an aftermarket, an actual history behind it, and will keep its value better.
That's the makarov, you can't go wrong with whatever true makarov you choose as they are all exactly the same(besides the double stack Baikal model, still nice though) and they all have the same amount of quality put into them.

Why is 9x18 such a pain in the dick to find?
