I have two pic-related cartridge belts, 25 and 56 shell bandoliers, and an ALICE kit for other gear and M1a mags. I'm looking at adding a 357 revolver and an arming sword to the getup, but the sheer number of straps getting involved is making me look like some cheesy animu wannabe, not to mention it can't be good to have so many hangup points in the field. So, /k/, how do I cut down without loosing accessibility or capacity?

I could put a bayonet on the M1A, but transitioning from the 870, whose bullpup frame won't allow a lug mount, is a complication and at the point that I should rely on a Ka-bar out of the sheath something just feels wrong but I can't put my finger on it. I've got too much shit and can't decide on what needs to go.

or just a backpack loaded with shells. should be someway to rig up a convenient pull.

NOT worth it

But muh premium leather :^)

>>30390023
They charge what rich, out of touch britbongs pay. There is no reason that thing should cost more than like $50. It's not even full leather, the sides are canvas.

>>30390035
>implying they would dare sully themselves with a shotgun worth less than $10,000

80% of the cost of my shotgun after buying all the kit and kaboodle

Maybe I can just... carry it all...
>>
>>30389880
Thats quite the loadout. Get a rivet kit/hole punch, a scrap belt and D rings. Get creative and incorporate the pistol and sword into your ammo belts. You seem used to wearing them, no need to add a new belt for each piece of gear.

lordship when?
>>
>>30390543
That's not a bad idea, wish I'd thought of it; actually if I can make the parts of the cartridge belts by hand I could just sew them into the sword belt, since it's a double wrap design I'll have all the real estate I'd need.
>>
>>30390589
Fucking kek
>>
>>30389880
>like some cheesy animu wannabe,
>he says while he wants to wear a sword

also you could strap a thinish knife to the scabbard of the sword like they do with kukris.
>>
>>30390641
You can hang a knife anywhere on your gear though, not much you can do with an ALICE kit and a gunbelt to accomodate an extra-long stabbing stick. Lord help him if it's an oriental design.

it actually works surprisingly well, the trick was to make it sloped on the way out and make sure the shells don't move too much. I'm actually going to use this and make one out of sheet aluminum later.
>>
>>30390696
I think the eh suggestion to make a cartridge belt/ swordbelt is a pretty good one and small swords aren't that long so it'll probably work.

Just a bit silly in a fun way.

I use nugget pouches for my shotgun shells.

Holds half a dozen per pocket easy. anything more and my bag can hold it.
>>
>>30390719
forgot you need to have something to retain the shell, I used brass fasteners because I am classy like that. Holds 14 shells. this place makes me think when not shitposting.
>>
>>30390775
Hah, good point, after going out stump shooting with a friend and realizing how often I'm going to have to reload before it becomes a smooth and versatile action. I'm actually thinking about keeping the bandos packed up and leaving my chest open for ALICE kit and easier access to my vest pockets. I still need to get a plate carrier and do heat-endurance runs to figure out how much more kit needs to be pruned out. But dammit if I can't help but grin like a maniac when I look in the mirror while wearing everything, it's just stupid cool. I probably look like some olive drab bank robber- no wait, olive drab is for ex-marines on shooting rampages.
>>
>>30390817
Put bandos in back pack, attach them to the pack. Use lanyard straps to pull them out over your shoulders. Get some clips to fasten the dangling ends on your belt like suspenders when needed.
>>
>>30390872
Wait, do they make disintegrating belt links in 12ga?
>>
>>30390931
just clip a couple bandoliers together end to end, a magician's shotgun belt
>>
>>30390961
>>30390931

Dump pouch to catch the empty end.
>>
>>30391003
>>30390961
The only reason I would ever have to use this would be at the range with an open time card and a stack of fresh target prints and to run through nearly two hundred slugs just to draw attention.

But still, I like it.
>>
>>30391051
I now imagine a 10 foot long ammo belt on a spool attached to a small internal frame pack. Fed out from a pocket on one of the straps.
It gets sillier and cooler the more I think about it.
>>
>>30390931
couldn't you modify .50 bmg links?
>>
>>30391104
why not just weld a .50cal ammo can to the side and label it "SALTED SLUGS"

An Arming sword? Wtf! You realize repeating sidearms have made swords obsolete right?

If you have 10 minutes, he basically explains how a sword is more useful in different situations than a pistol. Unless you shoot a moving attacker's heart, brain, or ankle from ~15 feet away, they can still reach you with a knife before they die. Sword strikes are more likely to stop an attacker and subsequent stabs/strikes kill them safely at close range. Conserves ammo too, if survival is your angle. But really, that's about it. No reason to use one instead of a sidearm, but if having a sword (1-3 lbs) on top of everything doesn't make your loadout too heavy, might as well have both.
