It's pretty good, it's probably my next favorite flight sim after 1946. You'll probably have to invest a bit though in order to get a nice selection craft.

Probably because it was made by Russians that didn't have the sort of legal and internal political limitations that would befall a western developer. Except for problems with Grumman when trying to get Pacific Fighters released, which prevented certain flyable and other assets from being added in the official development. It's part of the reason Cliffs of Dover didn't have any American planes, they didn't want to deal with the costs and time of dealing with those aircraft companies any more.

Temps weren't too bad in most fighters because they had a nice warm engine just a couple feet Multi-engine aircraft like P-38's and bombers were hell until they got better heating systems.
