Sup /k/,
I just recently replaced my mich helmet's old headband suspension system with the new foam pads. Now the helmet sits a full two inches higher on my head and exposes a good amount of my forehead like in pic related, where it had previously rested just above my eyebrows.
Is this normal, or should the foam contract with wear and allow the helmet to recede to its normal position?
Also QTDDTOT.

Wearing a helmet in SHTF is just asking for it.

how so?

It's gonna make your silhouette look like a fed or deathsquad soldier. In the dark when nobody can see anything about you but your outline, a helmet's gonna make you look like a uniformed bad guy so hard. Enjoy getting killed by blue-on-blue.

Normies would see a guy in a helmet and think "wow he's tactical he might kill me"

Sell your helmet RIGHT FUCKING NOW and put the money toward more ammo. A helmet, like what others in this thread have said, is just gonna attract the wrong sort of attention. You can hide a plate carrier and long gun under a coat to avoid attention, but a helmet? Good fucking luck you don't get shot first.

Are you planning on storming a compound or just drawing lots of attention to yourself?

AND what if I was to say that myself and pals have a nice little holdout area that is stocked and ready to rumble when SHTF...
Wouldn't I want a helmet for guard duty?

Honestly weapon, ammo, comfortable/suitable innawoods/compound clothing, food/water, plate carrier, lbv/molle gear, nightvision, then helmet. Depending on budget and task you can adjust order accordingly
I found a helmet that might suit you
