Buy a gallon of this and a container that your knife can fit in and is watertight. Let it soak for a couple hours to a day, Remove, wipe down and enjoy your derusted stuff. IF there is any original non oxide finish on their it'll still be there when you are done.

Soak in a container of unsweetened pineapple juice. Check every couple of days and scrub with a stiff brush. should take maybe a week-ten days to remove active rust.
