I currently run and weightlift 3-4 times a week, play Warhammer 40k, and read. Used to play videogames more but stopped more or less due to time and money constraints. But all that is competing for my attention because I work fulltime and go to school fulltime as well as have a girlfriend. Any precious moments I get to myself I usually spend sleeping during the school year. College sucks.

It's always the boomers' fault.

Find a local machine shop, ask if they want to get rid of any manual equipment.

Im at this step too.

Well it works, but it keeps chewing up bearings with a poor tune. Makes it about 3 months at a time. Im certain my injector min pulse width is too long and so im fouling my plugs at idle... running a 12.2 afr at idle, and any adjustment diwn just kills the motor out. Even at 1100 rpm. So I think its just the injectors fritzing out when I bring it down even .1ms injection time.

35lbs of boost is insane in it though. Its too violent to drive around normally.

240 fag here, I also work on muscle cars. This is my brothers, we built it for him when we were young.

We are currently building a 477 aluminum head BB to upgrade from the 400. In its current form its around 700 seabiscuits, but.. but the nissan is faster with its ~550 cause weight. It wont be after the new engine though, that thing is going to be a beast. I can stick my fist in the intake ports of the new heads.

We had bought a 454 and found over 1/4" overhang of the cylinders compared to the combustion chambers.

Since im not at a machine shop anymore I cant just bore and sleeve it for him, so we are making him hunt for a new block.

Its gonna be wicked, probably 1100 ponies on 12 lbs.

Then some of the smaller duosports start at like $5,000 new and depreciate fast enough a used one is frequently sub-$1k in good shape and 5-6 years old.

Youll just have to work harder to develop the skills the rest of us were fortunate to receive from our fathers. You can do it, but you have to try. And you may fail, but thats life. Youll try till you figure it out because thats how its gotta be.

You worked for that shit on your own and itll be that much more rewarding.

I know the pain anon, daddy left when I was a wee boy. You just take the void of what you didn't have and fill it with happy things. Find one thing you don't like about yourself and work to change it. Along the way, you'll pick up all sorts of skills.

When you're finding something, don't ever think a goal is to large. You just look at that goal and establish other goals to achieve it. But don't get tunnel vision! Take the time to smell the roses on the way there, and stop to develop other skills rather than just using them only when they're needed. Soon enough, you'll look back and see the development and progress you've made, and that's the best feeling in the world. Sex is honestly overated anon, don't let your highschool or college buddies make you think otherwise. The later in life you get, you'll see that women aren't only looking for good looking fellas, and every skill and ability you'll have I guarantee the queer metrosexual hipster fag beside you doesn't.

I've found, as hard as it is to do, setting aside the pain and self pitty of any situation makes it better. The void of anything anyone takes from you can be filled, but it's your job to pick what goes in it! That's the joy of life! Surround yourself with exciting, self improving activities and people that will support you doing them. If you want to learn how to work on cars, hop on some forums! It's ok to spend time looking at a screen, but what is even more fun is going out and doing things! If you want to do some mountain biking, find a local group or local trails to do so! Talk to people, and learn from them. Cheap shit works and is perfect for trying out different hobbies to find which ones you like best! Don't be intimidated by meeting new people either! Remember that no one knows you on the internet, and any community you join is a chance to reinvent yourself, one change to how you act at a time. Soon enough, after doing this, you're going to find that this rubs off on real life! Confidence is just like anything else; everyone is faking it! Do the same! Eventually, you'll be just as able to meet new people as you act on the internet!

>tl;dr
You are what you make yourself into. Don't let anyone that takes something from you effect how you turn out!

People aren't against you, they're for themselves.

I've been gardening herbs and vegetables, trying to do it on a budget with suburb environments. Maybe start a blog on how to do it in your average American suburb home for some money from the same soccer moms that hate us.
Bought an AR lower and built it from a parts kit with nothing but channel locks and a 6"x6" rubber strip, maybe do an upper with same tools once things get cheap again
Working on my truck for no reason like changing the oil (mechanic buddy does it for free), swapping exhaust systems, cleaning/replacing the air filters, and sometimes fudding around with electronics in the cab. Such as putting in CB radios or aftermarket stereos. I learned how after I bought a cheap truck in high school and did it on my own with the help of Google.
Sometimes I just go to Home Depot and buy cheap lumber and build tables, beer pong tables, picnic tables, and tables for garden planters.
Reading and learning about the Syrian civil war
I love cooking, in fact I'm considering a career in it because after working with oil investors I feel like I could someone to bankroll a restaurant, it helps that my mother is a financial manager for a local chain.
Again, cooking, I think I'm getting good. Lots of people tell me I make the best steak dinner they've ever had (pic related)

And if I get really bored I sometimes I'll take my pupper through the trails by my house to collect wood, and do innawoods style cooking for shits and giggles.

IDK if I have any good secrets, gourds aren't too hard and bugs generally don't like the taste compared to edibles.
The best secret is that I grow them out of holes in a giant cement slab so there's almost no dirt around except the small amount they're planted in. Those one's do the best.
I also just put them in the ground all over on the edges of a grove, so they don't put on a lot, but it takes almost zero effort. But plenty of those plants to climb trees 20-30 feet up.

>how do I into hockey?
First step is to find somewhere to skate. Lots of places don't have ice rinks, which sucks. I'm fortunate in that I live in a city with an NHL team and lotsa eastern euro immigrants so the hockey scene here is almost as big as the "futbol" scene, and bigger than the American Football scene--we have like 2 dozen rinks that are open to the public, 4 separate competitive clubs, and 3 semipro teams (arena football tier).

Then you go in, preferably early on a weekday, and go "I cannot into skate, teach me to into skate" and someone will give you a quick n' dirty for free. Then practice. Then find a beer league or pick-up games. Then practice with a stick.
>alternatively, inline skates and street hockey if that's more popular where you are--gear investment is much much cheaper and it can be just as fun/physical

not hard at all. pick up a pair of cheap skates at a used sporting goods store and sign up for a learn to skate at your nearest rink (make sure you get what actually fits. skates usually run about a size and a half below what you normally wear for shoes. my skates are 8, street shoes are 9 1/2-10. look up a guide to sizing). that'll get you the basics, then pretty much every northern town big or small and every major southern city will have adult beer leagues. just sign up for the lowest entry level (i've helped coach men and women who are regularly twice my age for the last couple years. you won't stand out or look weird in the lower levels, i promise) and invest in getting a full set of gear. it'll probably be between $2-300 to get a full set of used gear. considering how much guns cost, it's not too bad. once you start playing, talk to people. let them know it's one of your first times playing. people are always super welcoming and nice in the lower levels.

then, boom. you've into'd the hockey.

Gardening, but I'm leaning more towards trees these days. I can't stand planting shit just to watch it die 3 months later.

Cigars and rum are fucking great, but I can't afford either...

I have a lot of hobbies, but they aren't /k/ related. Well, I did have a cop inform me that my kitchen knife roll that was on my floorboard is, in fact, a roll of weapons, but /k/ would likely not take well to regular discussion of kitchen knives in combat situations. Start doing the stuff that makes you uncomfortable a little bit at a time. Eventually you get used to it and at that point you bring it up a notch. Then you get used to that level of exposure to it and then you kick it up a notch again. Repeat until you have virtually eliminated your fear and anxiety of the thing.

Aquaria

Aquariums are a pretty cool hobby. It's sweet once you reach a set up where the CO and waste production of your animals are balanced with the O2 production and waste consumption of your plants. Requires very minimal maintenance at this point and the water is excellent for your houseplants. I also have a pothos growing out of the filter, as it can survive with fully immersed roots, which further removes fish waste. By far my favorite hobby after motorcycles. If it sounds interesting, look up aquaponics for that on a huge, edible scale.

Get a small lathe ( some times called a mini or midi lathe) , a vacume dust shrowd. And you can do wood turning in your apt.

Better yet take up carving and scroll/relief work and chip carving. Can be done with hand tools. And is a great skill to learn. When you have room to get a wood shop. You can embelish your work and really take it to the next level

>>
>>30361329
It's obvious it was a troll but a troll with a point. Don't get me wrong riding a motorcycle is still more dangerous but it's like being muzzle swept with a loaded gun. It, while it shouldn't, still happens. It's still out of your control. If you conceal carry and get pulled over and for whatever reason you accidentally show your gun you can get lit up by some cop. These are all avoidable. You can mitigate most risks while riding if you are vigilant. Takes lots of practice as with anything and is much more involved than driving. Not for everyone just like shooting isn't for everyone.

Ahhh Piggley.

Not even the same realm of risk. This was the second decrease in motorcyclist fatalities since 2009. In 2013, 56 out of every 100,000 registered motorcycles was involved in a fatal crash, compared with only 9 out of every 100,000 passenger cars, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Firearm-related death rate per 100,000 population per year 10.54 Data was acquired by GunPolicy.org and are mainly based on second-hand surveys from 2007 (Karp, Aaron. 2007. You're over four times more likely to die from owning a motorcycle as you are from owning a gun. Of course I would strongly recommend owning both, as they're fucking sweet.
>>
>>30362609
No anon I completely agree that bikes are more dangerous I was merely showing that you cannot mitigate all risks with guns as the previous anon seemed to imply your only risk was intentionally shooting yourself.

The banding is just to tell individuals apart to better track data at an individual level. But it easily leads into things like being able to track migration patterns. Now geo-location technology has increased to the point that we can now attach locators to birds that don't even weigh half an ounce that fly nearly 24 hours straight over the Gulf of Mexico twice a year, and as long as we get the geo-locator back we can extrapolate where it went, how long it stayed, and when it came back.

Me tough, I study molt patterns. But catching birds is a bonanza of potential data, it all depends what you are looking to do, as the licenses aren't just handed out casually, you have to tell USGS what you intend to do, if you want to pull feathers (and you have to be specific which feathers), if you want to draw blood, if you want to collect poop swabs, and they will allow you to do the things you asked them permission for, and not much else. Like, if by chance I catch a hummingbird I have to release it, as hummingbirds are a special permit that I don't have.

Also, don't feel too bad for blue jays. They're con men extraordinaire. That one pictured in particular pretended he had a broken leg the whole time it was being examined, for reasons only it could fathom, in spite of multiple physical examinations by multiple biologists that said he was a-okay he kept up is charade. Blue jays are just dicks.

The Audubon description on blue jays is one of his best pieces in my opinion. His writing is a magical old-timey sort of story-telling no longer present in contemporary works. Every sentence is so vivid. It's such a fun read.
