Ian even said he would only use mild loads.
The way they converted them means there is an area of fairly high pressure not supported by much steel.
Shoot at your own risk. It's like the Spanish 1916 mausers in .308. Not many fail but just enough that it's not worth the risk to most.

There's a decent 1943 nugget at my Canadian Tire for $190, I want to get it but they also have an SKS. I want both but I can't decide which one to get first, I'm a poorfag too so it will take a while to save up enough cash to for whichever one I don't buy now.
