What do you guys think, is this thing going to be huge in the next couple years or is it just snake oil?

Would love to hear impressions from anyone who's had actual experience with the device.
>>30339250
It works, it's good for competition shooters, it has no military application.
Sight picture
>>30339250
It's good at what it does and would be great for competition or someone who has a decent bit of cash for optics and doesn't want to do a regular 1-4x or a low power scope with piggyback red dot or aimpoint + magnifier.
I don't compete and would not benefit from it, and I wouldn't consider it for military uses.
>>30339250
Smells kinda gimmicky for $1500. But leupold is usually good with their stuff. But I'd have to agree with >>30339327
I don't see much military value in it.. and it's kind of wide.
>>30339250
I prefer the slav version I'e seen. No bullshit hanging off the side
>>30339327
>it has no military application
>>30339384
>wouldn't consider it for military uses
>>30339398
>I don't see much military value in it
Why is this?
But people have been putting reflex sights on top of railed scopes forever lol
I just bought a 3x prism sight with 2 rails on it
Someone made one in Insurgency, definitely feels gimmicky but looks damn nice.
>is it jsut snake oil
If you're using that phrase for this, you don't know what snake oil actually is
>>30339468
>a product, policy, etc. of little real worth or value that is promoted as the solution to a problem
There seems to be no problem here.
>>30339482
That seems to be more of opinion than fact.
If it were actually snake oil, it would not function at all. It's a usable and innovative product, far from anything that is deserving of the title (meme) "snake oil"
>>30339511
So fireclean marketed as a special cutting edge gun formula that is really vegetable oil and atf isnt snake oil?
I mean it does work, right?
Like I said before, having 2 sights next to each other isnt groundbreaking. Weve had scoped rails for years. People put reflex and red dots on scopes rails all the time
>>30339549
Railed scopes*
>>30339511
>That seems to be more of opinion than fact
That's the point of OP's question, to hear opinions on whether or not it is useless, a solution to a problem nobody had, or otherwise. The formulation is as follows:
Q: Is the d-evo snake oil?
A: Yes or No it is or is not.
I think you're just being autistic for no good reason at all.
>>30339250
>why not just mount a red dot on your optic for the same effect?
>>30339573
He is.
Maybe next theyll come out with a weapon light with built in 45 degree buis and call it ground breaking
>>30339595
THANK YOU
>>30339573
Q: Are we not men?
A: We are DEVO!
>>30339595
You don't get imaginary operator points among the young and impressionable.
>>30339409
No good for shooting with both eyes open (Bindon aiming). Moving your right eye "just six degrees down" will make your left eye lose the target.
>>30339595
Because you need to change your cheek weld to switch. Takes time. Gets you killed.
>>30340049
What.
It doesnt take that much time. And if its someone bum rushing you around a corner that you didnt know about, you are pulling on that trigger and adjusting out of panic anyways.
No one is going thru battle watching both reticles simultaneously at all times. You are identifying a target, and using whatever optic is going to be advantageous to hit that target. Thinking abut that step alone is going to take more time than adjusting your cheek weld on a rifle.

except the hurrdurrussians did it better

>>30339444
>Abu Hajaar has joined the security forces
Also I've been playing a bit of Insurgency recently and got that too, I like the 1x sight but I find myself rarely using the 2x
>>30339250
Having two reticles in my face seems kind of distracting. Why not just use a red dot on a canted side mount if you can't afford to spend the time it takes to flip a throw lever on a variable optic? I don't think I've seen any competition shooters using this thing. Maybe it hasn't caught on yet.
>>30339600
I'm getting kind of tired of all these gimmicks. Just because you can mount something on a rail doesn't mean you should.
>>30340499
That's pretty neat, but I guarantee the Leupold has far, far better optics
>>30340473
And yet we are looking at an optic where both reticles are on the same focal plane so all you do is more your eyeball, nothing else.less time and movement is less time and movement. Its a different take on a solution to a common problem. The problem doesn't have to be severe for people to work on it, the Slavs did the same shit and optics have had iron on them for a while. This is just a different approach
That type of thinking kept guys using rolling blocks into the repeater age.
>>30339250
>Try to show off how good your optics are
>Go for an extremely shitty and unethical belly shot
fuckoff/10
>>30339250
damn, that thing is awesome
>>30342018
clearly aiming for a shoulder shot but it moved at the last second
>>30342018
still dropped the animal too
>>30340506
He did nothing wrong.
>>30340499
Darn, now I want this.
>>30340499
>greentexting urls
pls do not do this
>>30341904
The advantages of changing to a faster cyclic action outweigh the cheekrld adjustment time tenfold.
I get what you are saying, progress is progress, but its hardly a probem that got people killed... nor is it worth a military contract
>>30339250
Reticle is placed way too high in the scope part.
>>30339250
all i saw was a cute doge get shot.
>>30342018
>unethical
ethics are a social construct.
>>30339250
seems like a good idea but i just don't like how wide it is.
i'll stick to my acog/rmr for now.
Are there any other non round rifle scopes? I want to get a sight for my m1a but standard rifle scopes are meh.
I want that halo/cod future shit
>>30345536
Just playing devils advocate there.I don't see much place for it in combat either, but the vast majority of optics aren't designed for that anyway.
>>30345872
>future shit
>on an M1A
Reconsider.
>>30345915
I'm a Cancuck with a $500chink forged receiver m1a.
I'm buy a blackfeather stock from m14.ca so my set up will be pretty tight.
No receiver flex or zero drift.
>>30345824
They sure are anon, but only a little shit would cause intentional and uneccesary harm to an animal.
Pretty much a universally despised trait unless you're a third world shitstain.
