I can see why he got 49 kills. This thing looks like fun.
>>
I always see people attributing the extent of his shooting spree to the >10-round magazine, but all he'd have to do is buy more than one 10-round mag to do the same damage, and he could've done the same with a handgun, if need be.

It makes me wonder how people don't attribute it to the absence of someone to stop him rather than the tools he used to do it. But I guess that's liberal fear-mongering for you, right?
>>
>>30291060
Clubs with alcohol like that usually don't allow you to carry, for good reason. He essentially attacked a gun free zone. How was anyone going to stop him? Were you wielding your katana?
>>
>>30291103
jump at him i guess. If ya gonna die, die with style or honor.
>>
>>30291103
>the absence of someone to stop him

In a bar full of people forced to cower on the floor, not a single patron could've stood up and fired at him. The gun-free zone guaranteed a vulnerable crowd. Why not abolish that and require bartenders to be armed as well? Just spitballing here.
>>
>>30291162
every old western bar in cowboy days, saw off shot guns... Sounds liek a good loop hole law, the Bartender Arms Act.
>>
>>30291060
Let's be honest here, for every 30rd mag your carrying, you have 20 more rounds than you would with 10rd mags.
So you have the potential to hold more rounds in total on your person at once.

Magazine cap restrictions are the only gun control idea that actually is logical, that being said I don't think banning hi cap mags would actually make a difference, and the people's rights are more important that the small amount of victims in these tragedies compared.
>>
>>30291486
Spree shooters have shown no problem reloading multiple times.
>>
>>30291486
For hours, he was free to fire into the crowd and had the time to reload at least four times, not including firing into the same person more than once, all the missed shots, and his standoff with police.

Why would needing to reload 11 times have made any difference?
>>
>>30291507
I think You missed my point. reloading isn't an issue, but it does slow your Fire rate a little bit, not a whole lot but a little

I just mean that if you complele filled up a backpack with 10rd mags, and one with 30rd mags, the bag with 30rders would have more ammo in it since A 30rd mag isn't 3x the size of a 10rd magazine, it's more like 2 1/2..
>>
>>30291486
Yeah, let's be honest.
Just because he had magazines that held more ammo, doesn't mean that he can carry more ammo, only that he requires fewer magazines to do so.

120 rounds in 4 magazines or 120 rounds in 12 magazines is still 120 rounds and about the same weight.
>>
>>30291638
your right, the weight almost the same, I just mean the size, A 30rd mag is smaller than 3x-10rd mags. So you would be able to fit more ammo in total in a given size ie a backpack or something.

I'm not trying to point out anything else, just this fact
>>
Ban clubs, problem solved.
>>
>>30291623
But he didn't need a backpack full of 30rd mags, just four or five. He'd need 12 or 15 10rd mags to do the same damage, but again, because of the time he had, reloading wouldn't be an obstacle at all.
>>
>>30291750
Im not trying to say he would have killed more or less people. I just mean that with 10rd mags you cant hold as much ammo on yourself

>>
>>30291486
>>30291713
Size is pretty similar, in a 30 mag pouch you can fit 2 10 round mags with room to spare.

Its the weight that really limits you on how much ammo you can carry not the volume, especially if you have a backpack filled with mags that you top up your vest from.

Like sure you might be able to fit 60 30 round mags in a bag vs only 120 10 round mags but the weight of 1800 rounds of ammunition is going need you to have a proper hiking backpack with good shoulder support to carry those 50 odd pounds of ammunition versus carrying 1200 rounds which is a bit more manageable at around 30 odd pounds.

TLDR : Lead + Brass is heavy and its infeasible to carry more then about 1000 rounds of .223.
>>
>>30292136
Doesn't .223 weight like 3 lb / 100 rounds? 30 lbs of ammo plus whatever the mags would weigh couldn't possibly that hard to carry.

but then again, he didn't need 1000 boolet, just 200 maximum.

>>
>>30292194
You ever carried a over a thousand rounds of .223 + a heap of 9mm in a duffel bag?

I have, its awkward and heavy, because the bag was swinging around and was slung over one shoulder it burst capillaries in my shoulder. Now to a mass shooter a sore shoulder and some bruises wont be a big deal sure, but he isnt going to be shooting very well or moving very fast with a whole heap of weigh slung over a shoulder.

Carrying a heap more then a thousand rounds of .223 + mags + guns even with the right gear like a load bearing vest and a proper backpack with good lumbar support is really getting fairly infeasible.
>>
>>30291486
Hi there. I'm a Canadian. We have magazine restrictions. They accomplish this by pinning or riveting existing magazines. It would take mere seconds to convert to a full magazine.
>>
>>30291103

If a business does not allow their patrons to carry concealed, then they need to be responsible for their safety. They had a single guard at the front door.
>>
>>30292136
These shooters are not hoofing it for miles, they're just walking around general areas. So 1000 rounds or more so isn't a big deal at all since they aren't planning on moving that far anyways.
>>
>>30292526
You're still talking as if he fired a thousand rounds.

At maximum, he had five mags for the people in the club and at least five more for his hours-long standoff with police, right? That comes out to about 300 rounds (10 lbs). More magazines for the same number of bullets wouldn't have been an issue for him, he'd just be forced to pay attention to shot placement for the same effect, and in a room full of defenseless people on the floor, that couldn't possibly a great inconvenience for him.

Maybe the cops waited for him to finish off everyone because this attack was staged to encourage stricter gun control laws.

Cops wouldn't enter because he had a bomb-like device. SWAT sprayed his ass, then they had to get the bomb-bot in before medics. A few hours without medical attention would seriously fuck over those with medium attention wounds.

lot of good that did

And if he had been incapacitated by a patron? Bomb-bot could've been deployed sooner. There would have been fewer dead or dying, and more of those dying could've been saved. :D

I could've shot 100+ people with a musket in the 3 hours he had, the problem was response time, not magazine size.

this. Would explain why the body count jumped after it was all over, they said they had access to the building minus that bathroom during the standoff and were able to get people out/do a count and that's where the initial 20 or so dead number came from. Funny thing is the number of wounded only went up a couple, it was only the dead count that jumped.

I can't find it now but I also came across a video that was supposedly the moment they breached and it sounded like every cop there unloaded their entire magazine.
>>
>>30293654

That 3 hour delay between being wounded and receiving even rudimentary first aid seems to me to be undoubtedly a large factor in why the casualties were so high.

Moral of the story if you want to kill people you need to hold off their medical care for a few hours after you shoot them so the ones that didn't receive lethal injuries bleed out.

>>30291103
Patrons don't have to be armed, but the bartender and bouncer wouldn't be unreasonable to arm, as well as the manager having a rifle and plate carrier in his office.

>>30291358
>>30293423
There's already 14" barrel shotguns which are NFA exempt due technically not being shoulder fired or short enough.

Put a laser and a good choke on something like this and it wouldn't be a terrible bartender gun, along with a loaded pistol and a backup 30rd mag for that.
>>
>>30291103
He was within arms reach of his victims in a crowded nightclub where he shot people at point blank range. An unarmed zergling rush, or just one person grabbing the rifle by the handguard to redirect it, or people setting up an ambush behind a bathroom door would have stopped this fucker. Not to victim blame, but it's embarrassing how little fighting spirit people seem to have in the face of near-certain death. Fight or flight seems to now be flight or cower and die blubbering
>>
>>30291103
Those Americans in Europe took down that guy on a train with an AK. It was a club full of people that could have rushed him. I guess none of them were willing to make the sacrifice so others could live. That doesn't mean they're cowards, just more interested in self preservation.
>>
>>30289343
It lasted for 3 hours is the real reason. Honestly, if the guy has a swiss army knife he could have accomplished the same within 3 hours, completely unimpeded. If just ONE person had a CCW it would have been over within 5 minutes. The only armed person there, a security guard, was the first taken out and then the rest of the people attempting to flee actually trapped most of the victims within the place. Very sad and could have been prevented if we didn't have such terrible CCW laws.

>>30292792
That's because in the state of Florida it's illegal to take firearms into places that sell and/or dispense alcohol. Kind of a gray area when it comes to places like Beef o' Brady so we just figure that means don't buy alcohol or sit at the bar. Clubs are an even bigger gray area.
