Does anyone here CC a full-sized handgun regularly? Is there anything wrong with doing so?
>>
>>30254916
Yup. Full size 1911
>>
You're going to print harder than the New York Post printed anti bush covers
But it's doable
>>

yes
Is there anything wrong with doing so?
you need a good holster, a good belt, and the right clothes
>>
I CC my CZ 75 in a shoulder holster with no printing when im wearing a light jacket.
>>
>>30254916
It can't effectively be done any way but AIWB carry. And only if you're skinny.

I carry a Glock 19 AIWB and it works only because of my flat stomach. If I had a beer belly it'd just print like crazy.

it can big a bit to handle if youre trying to conceal it, but with the right holsters/clothes set up ive seen people carry comically large pistols. Just make sure you have a good belt and jacket really

No printing if you wear a coat or something along those lines. If I bend over too far then my jacket will ride up and show the bottom of my leather holster but it blends in with my pants, and that is easily remedied by just squatting instead which is what you should be doing when carrying anyway. I prefer carrying my BHP OWB over carrying my PPS IWB simply because it is more comfortable.

FNX9. Currently using an ayy lmao gear 3.0 to CC it, and it works, but Damn is it a large holster. Looking at options for something a bit more slim.

I'm also a bit of a chubster, so that definitely helps, since I can just toss a big shirt on and be good to go.

Good point.

Got pics? I dunno, I have a hard time picturing it working out without a long, fairly heavy cover garment, probably closed in the front. Trenchcoat sure, untucked oxford probably not.

I appendix a P99 70% of the time and a PPK when I am dresses light or just don't feel like it. It's not hard if you do it alot, just get a good holster. I just use galco gun leather for everything and feel I would probably enjoy it more if I got something custom, but it werks.

How is the 17? I'm thinking a 34 with light like pic related as my next CC, if I can get a company to make me a vertical shoulder holster for it.
>So sexy
>>
I carry a 1911. If you have a good belt and holster it won't print. The weight never bothers me, but it every time I stand up I have to pull my shirt down or else it will get caught in the grip. I have to be more cognicent of my gun than if I carried a compact. Doable but there are better options.
>>
>>30255262
If you're going to carry something that big why would you carry 9x19?
>>
>>30254916
>carry a full sized
yes. I carry an eaa witness in small of my back.

>anything wrong?

I'm limited as to where I carry on my body (hate small of back carry -- too slow for me), and it makes me look like I have Khoisan ass in the wrong clothes. it's also hard to sit in certain positions.

specific to the gun: I also have to wear undershirts because the hammer spur is pretty rough.

otherwise, I don't really have any issues.
>>
>>30255294
It's not that much longer than a 17, and same frame.
Although I have been tempted to just trade it for a 17. But the 34's slide matches most good lights so well. Decisions...
>>
>>30255262
34 might be pushing it. Im pretty tall at 6'1 and its cold a lot here so I wear jackets. I worry its protruding but that might jist be in my head. I havent had anything happen yet. Im not a skeleton either, I have a mediam body builer look, but again its all about the belt, jacket, pants combo. the 19 would be easier but I like the 17 more
Id suggest a shoulder holster for something that big though
>>
I'm a skelly who appendix carry a G19 and never print because appendix carry is best carry.

Its cold 75% of the year here, so normal old flannels are about as thin as I go with long sleeves and this North Face jacket is about in the middle, and when its colder obviously there are thicker coats that make it much easier to conceal. When it's too hot to wear anything like this (three or four months out of the year) I'll carry a Walther PPS IWB no problem with just a T shirt

It's all about the colors and directions of the lines as they help camouflage any bumps from printing. Some that I have work great for that, while some not so much.

Is the 17 really """"""niche""""", though? To me, it's just the basic Glock.
I just want to use my bedside gun for CCW, and if I find a company that'll do a holster for it, I think the 34 w/light would be fine in a vertical shoulder holster.

mp vs glock.jpg
444KB, 1000x667px
>>30256016
to most people the 19 is the "perfect" glock for its size, where as the 17 is a bit too big and more of a duty/ collection/ I only want a glock 17 to say I have a glock 17 gun
where as if somebody says they want a glock, most will just say get the 19.
so in this sense its more of a niche gun. I personally dont think so and think its underrated but like I said im not a fan of the 19's size
>>
>>30256076
I carry a glock 23 or a walther pp daily.

my 23 is the same frame as a 19 and its nice as all fuck.
>>
>>30256092

I can appreciate the 19, but I can easily conceal a 17 due to my height, and the fact that I intend to rock it in a shoulder holster like my Tokarev. Just unsure if it's a better idea to downgrade to a 17.

What do you think, Anon?
>>
>>30254916
I conceal carry a full sized USP. It doesn't really bother me, especially in the winter when I have heavier clothes on. I do think the grip is long though, so I'm always worried about printing, or having my shirt get caught behind it. Whoever I'm at Kroger or something and I need something from a low shelf, I'm always making sure my gun doesn't show. I'm probably going to get a subcompact because of this. Looking at the P30sk, or maybe I'll wait until the VP9sk comes out.
>>
>>30256330
between the 19, the 17 and the 34?

the 34 is IMO the least versatile. its a great gun to shoot with its a competition gun. so if you find you cant cc it then its just a range toy

the difference between the 17 and 19 is marginal. Most will say get the 19 so you can use the 17 mags and theres no arguing its easier to conceal, but if you can get the 17 Id say go for it. I am biased though. the 19 is just small enough where I cant shoot it for very long without getting uncomfortable, but I can rock the 17 all day long and therefore im more happy shooting it

its not like either one are though. you can pick them up at anytime. I specifically like the 17 because of my height, location and I can comfortably get away with it
>>
Used to carry my g17 owb but hot damn I hated having to dress around the gun and being constantly mindful about showing and printing. Didn't bother with trying iwb and I just bought a subcompact and haven't looked back! My two cents.

>>
>>30255775

>>
>>30256811
Need to hear some kind of open front shirt or jacket. Can't zip up jacket without compromising accessibility. Gun can flash if the wind blows back your jacket.
>>
>>30255723
>confiscated for 3-6 months
is this any different for other states? does your gun HAVE to be confiscated in the case that its used?
>>
>>30256475
It'd be between the 17 or 34.
If I trade for a 17, I'll be simply running it with night sights. If I keep my 34, it'll be night sights and an X300 Ultra. Either will be in a vertical shoulder holster.

I guess all I can do is go to my LGS and handle them side by side.
>>
>>30256863
It's typical, which is why you don't drop 5k in mods on a carry piece.
Stock glock19 was 430 out the door for me, so I carry that specifically knowing that it'll work when I need it to, and it's easy to go without in the case of police evidence.
>>
>>30256950
id get the 17 then, but the 34 is nice too. Again, these arent rare guns so you cant really go wrong
>>
>>30257002
Yeah, I love the 34, but I keep getting the
>It's MEANT FOR COMPETITION, NOT CARRY
comments. I don't see why 0.82in of extra barrel and slide and a better trigger invalidate it as a carry gun. Like I said, I'll probably compare them side by side at my LGS and decide.
>>
>>30257272
I here the same about my glock 17 and ill admit its noticeable but manageable . really anything at or around the glock 19s size is the "perfect" size for guns these days. it you can run a 34 ill bet you wont regret it if youre in a shooting
>>

>>
>>30256232
its not as bad as i had thought t would be. I have a 9mm barrel for it too so get both worlds.
>>
>>30256811
It's slower than drawing from the waist, and you need clothing to match. You could do a shoulder holster under a slightly loose t-shirt but it would have a terrible draw
>>
What is the single most powerful gun that a person is legally allowed to concealed carry?
>>
>>30258244
>legally
Depends on the state. Most states where you can carry don't have restrictions on what you can carry. If you can conceal a .950 jdj rifle up your ass you could legally do it.

Under a jacket you could probably carry a large bore revolver (like .500 S&W) or a small pistol-rifle (like a Draco AK)
>>
>>30258272
What do they consider "concealed"?
If you look like a retarded hunchback because you've got a rifle strapped to your back with a coat slung over it, but people can't actually see the weapon itself, does the license cover it?
>>
who /5'7" 110lb/ here? what do you carry for a smaller frame? I like the mak but it's heavy for cc
>>
>>30258292
That's really up the police and the judge. But if somebody notices it then it probably won't be considered concealed, and something really outlandish like that would be considered open carry.
>>
>>30258356

I CC a ruger sr9e. It's full-sized. 17+1. I'm a pretty slim (5'11, 160lbs) and I have absolutely no issues. Just get a good holster. I highly recommend Alienware, they make stellar holsters.

I'm retarded, meant Alien Gear.

Also forgot, make sure you have a good belt. Like, a really sturdy one.

As someone with both, the 34 is slower to draw and also heavier in the holster. The adjustable sights are sharp as fuck on the 34 also. Get a 34 if you want a super awesome comp gun, even a 17 can wrek in comp, but 19 and smaller is better for CC. Or get a 17 to cc I'm just an anon.

You have cute hands anon.

This might be a dumb question, but have you tried fiddling with the cant on it?

It might work at a steeper angle, but then you might be sticking your beaver tail out... it can be tough if your body shape isn't just right, some people have trouble with compacts.

No, I appreciate the response. So you think the 34 is just too big for CC? Guess I'll go compare it to a 17 and see what I think.

I wanted to carry a mak, but for the life of me I couldn't figure out a way to carry it where that damned lanyard loop wasn't somehow stabbing me when I moved
>>
>>30260414
I mean if you can cc a 17 you can cc a 34 because the grips are the same size, but its not optimal for carry, unless texas stars attack you alot. A 17 is the biggest I'd carry, or a 20.

Speaking of printing.
How do some criminals hide Mac-10s without letting everyone within eyesight know about it? Mac-10s are basicly boxes

GP K100, on hip IWB, started carrying an extra mag in single mag holder. I wear a t-shirt over it, and I'm skellington-mode. Nobody spotted me yet.

I might consider a smaller gun one day but I'm functioning so far. Sometimes I do feel nervous if I don't test a shirt beforehand, but the most important thing is, people don't know, they won't notice. Don't overthink it.

>>30260466
Wait, if the 34 is as CCable as the 17, why is the 17 as big as you'd go?

Most people don't wear suit jackets any more. Or suspenders.

We need to bring it back.

I'm 6'5" about 250 and want to CC my Glock 20 because I shoot it better than my M&P Shield. What's a good holster including light? Dara Holster? AyyLmao? Also at what position should I carry since I'm overweight IMO? 3:30? 4:00?

If you really want to conceal a full size learning to tuck and retain without a holster is the best way to conceal.

Im always carrying two pistols in regular clothing, not sweatpants and a long t shirt.

It requires you to get comfortable with the way the gun rides and learn to loosely and casually swag when you walk so the gun rides with your stride and doesnt print.

Your homies will laugh at you a little while youre getting used to it and constantly adjusting or even maybe dropping your guns but eventually they just feel like part of your outfit.

>inb4 reeeeee you should use a holster.

kys pls. Middle class types who follow police wisdom and the self defence hivemind think nobody can tell theyre packing.

I come from a culture where you dont want nobody to know what you got. Having to be mindful of who around you is packing in the hood means even james the janitor and felicia the crackwhore can spot concealed weapons.

The streets learn from .mil types who come back home knowing how to kick doors and move in teams. You all would do well to learn from the streets how to hide your heaters.

34 is heavier, longer barrel does make the draw harder, sharp sights. A 17 is massive for carry but thats the largest grip/barrel length I'd be comfortable with, the 34 is just too long, 19 being pretty much optimal, or even a 43 for summer carry.

what do you do if it's Florida and you wear your shirt tucked in with shorts?
>>
>>30260544
do you use a trigger guard holster? are you just tucking it into your waistband?
>>
>>30260753
Get an alien gear holster that let you tuck your shirt in.

Or wear shoulder rig with a Hawaiian over shirt.
>>
>>30262024

that must really slow your draw if it's tucked in eh?

me! I was thinking about a Mak but I'll probably save up for a sig p938 or something striker fired.
