Gun law is probably one of the only ways leaving the EU will fuck the UK over.

The UK probably has the smallest active pro-gun activist base in the EU, we are actually helped by Europeans opposing stuff like this. If we leave the UK govt will be free to do what it likes with us but we will also be free to do what we like with it (in reality we have no power anyway since this is a totalitarian state). Let's remind people that EU does not make "laws".

They set directives. AKA recommendations that they expect the membering countries to adapt AS local laws. And even then there's some flexibility in the matter HOW they choose to adapt them. Some countries love to go overboard and exceed the recommended limits, while some don't generally give a fuck. Even outright, blunt "No" is an option, but requires some huge balls from the politicians.

This is the reason Finland's been (so far) against the thing, saying that things won't change. For starters, it would seriously hinder, potentially even kill the big reservist activities in the country, plus we already got some strict laws in the first place.

If you are still worried of this thing, contact your country's leaders and the fags at EU.

Now, I'm American and I love living in a free state, but has it ever occured to any of you guys that maybe the vast majority of the European populace DOESN'T want guns in their lives any more than they currently are? Maybe the silent majority(assuming it is as such) is perfectly content with some of these gun regulations, and it's just a tiny number of people who shitpost on /k/ that actually want access to guns.

Once again, I don't live there, and I don't personally know anyone that lives there, so I can't say one way or the other with any certainty.

Sorry, I assumed you were American. Obviously, if you want to leave because you want to become American, if you share their beliefs, then that's fine. What I can't understand is when someone would go to the US, not because he truly believes in their ideals, but because it's easier to move there than stay here and fight the oppression.

There are laws being made on the EU level (like this one, about banning guns). The EU can then enforce them not through financial means, and there is a push to make the EU more united.
