what is the best camo?
i love woodland. its my favourite by far, but its dated looking
very 1980-1990.
is more/less effective then say ACU/multicam
is there a modern take on the pattern i could look into?
has the woodland landed onto a more current jacket?
>>
What terrain? where what setting? if you mean heavy vegetation then i recommend either Czech Vz95 or Multicam Tropic

If you like woodland get some woodland, it's not like you're gonna use camo for any practical purpose anyway
>>
>>30204287
thanks man , i like that tropical milticam
>>
>>30204297

That and just because newer patterns have been adopted, doesn't mean that one's not effective. Flektarn is old as shit and it's still useful, as proven by many pics of /k/ommandos in the wild. Get what you like bromigo
>>
>>30204228
I like mossy oak if you are looking for specialized camo. Personally I go by the philosophy that general purpose camo needs to be at it's best when you are laying down, or sitting. So try to consider how it would look if someone was trying to pick you out looking down at you, or searching for you while you are attempting to hide, not standing up.

really just a nice twist rate on the pants, A+

Do not post what you own. If you do, this becomes a data-mining thread.

I really want to buy the Belgian m90 camo, is it worth it? I live in the pacific north west

Woodland is decently effective in a heavily vegetated environment, but it's much more effective in shaded, unkept woods with lots of dark dirt and fallen trees.
>>
>>30205693
I love woodland but it would be so much better without the black.

Gonna break down and get MC tropic eventually.

>what is the best camo?
Depends. Best how? (Aesthetics, Effectiveness, etc...)
>i love woodland. its my favourite by far, but its dated looking
>very 1980-1990.
Same here, woodland is my favorite pattern, and part of the reason I like it is nostalgia for the 80's and 90's
>is more/less effective then say ACU/multicam
ACU is the cut of the uniform, you mean UCP, in which case yes, UCP sucks. As for multicam it depends on the environment.
>is there a modern take on the pattern i could look into?
Closest I can think of is either the digital pattern used by the Mexican Navy or Swiss TAZ 90.
>has the woodland landed onto a more current jacket?
Yes, they do make woodland patterned ACU jackets, I think Varustreleka has some.

What would you replace the black with?
>>
>>30204228
I found some cheap 'Nam style tiger stripe BDU pants from a place in Houston for $20 a pair. I wear them to work sometimes and innawoods often. Usually with a tan or khaki shirt, and during hunting season a tan carhartt. If you're good at picking a backdrop, that'll break up your outline for you.

If you're going full tacticool and gear queer multicam is hard to beat.

I'm not going to say that you shouldn't like it, but it isn't one of the better patterns out there. Other modern patterns outperform it.

An invisibility cloak is the best camo you child.
Camouflage is situation dependent.
>>30207497
I hate this map. Anyone north of the red line should only be using flecktarn for maybe a month or two during Autumn, and Florida would be way better off with multicam or A-TACS.

I live in wisconsin and am a fan of flecktarn, but are there more viable milsurp options that will function well in this area? I guess I just want to buy some higher quality outdoor/hiking gear that has functional camo patterns so I can larp as recon when i camp, but also will remain durable to elements so I can actually use them for times to come.
>>
>>30208537
I guess I should have edited the milsurp part. What I meant to say was viable non-milsurp.
>>
>>30208460
IIRC it's literally the map with the general light/darkness replaced by camo that resembles it, not intended as a "wear this here" deal
>>
Dressing like a nerd is the best camo.
