We've known about this for a while and it will settle for +$45M. The land itself is the smallest part of the deal really. Everyone is bidding on the improvements to the land. The real dollar value of those improvements are well over $35M in total because it was built with tax dollars and those are unlimited for ABC agencies building sites that get no public attention.
The first question is what corporation would be interested in a company town in that part of the world and the answer is dozens of them, so the bidding will be interesting.
Now add the ability to set up on an already existing private village with just weeks or months of preparation as opposed to breaking fresh ground and all the bureaucrat bullshit that goes along with new development. This will add many millions to the paper value of the property just in time savings and time truly is money.

There are a few of us playing around with the idea of /k/ampgrounds offline. There will be safe spaces for us but none of us want to move into a developed suburban town. What we are kicking around is 5 to 10 pieces of undeveloped land around the country to start with. This can be done cheaper than you think because most of the land we wish to play on is pretty cheap but bad news for the upper eastern block bros.
God isn't making more land so our investment in the /k/ampgrounds is if nothing else real holdings so we lose nothing in the big picture. What can work is one person who can buy some land for our common use. He owns the land so if everyone loses interest over a period of time he still has his investment. I looked at a beautiful piece of land in eastern KY two months ago. Huge ass log cabin, couple largish cabins both completely modern as far as creature comforts, nice well maintained out buildings with almost 200 acres and much heavily wooded. Even though the price was high it was a great buy from where I sit but the seller wanted us to sign a contract severely limiting what we could do with the property. Some kind of land management/ preservation bullshit. I bet the buyer has to agree to some kind retarded of long term agreements. The most likely solution for radio access without radio is to have radio repeaters outside of the range of the Quiet Zone, hooked by wire/fiber to a central distribution center (also known as a fuckin' ISP). These get hooked to each home, apparently outfitted with faraday cages, where the radio signals are repeated to provide the effect of having radio despite there not being any.

Any radio transmitter device would probably have to convert their signal through Ethernet or something.

This. Like it or not having too many people with equal control over everything would be Chaos. Like in "There Will Be Blood" when an entire town all had equal claim to an oil strike and they needed consent from EVERYONE to make a move a no one could agree.

Maybe a Board Committee could eventually be elected to voice the opinions of those taking part, though whomever was in charge should always at least listen to them. The Board would be a funnel to gather their collective thoughts so it wasn't a hundred voices shouting independently.

Meetup threads like NuggetFest often get derailed by shitposters. The downside of an anonymous image board is the lack of accountability. No one is held to their word (except tripfags). So people can freely shit up conversations without recourse.

There's also the assumption by many that their opinion merits consideration and that if they shout their thoughts loudly and frequently enough, they'll get their way. This is often true of any group project on 4chan. Either there is no leadership and everyone works independently for a similar goal like in raids, or there is one central coordinator that works to organize the effort of the group for the same specific goals.
