Can someone explain to me the popularity of the Gorka? Do you guys just like cosplaying as slavs or something?

I assume yes. I don't own any Gorka stuff, but my guess is that the appeal is aesthetic.

Well the one I used to own was comfy as fuck and kept me warm pretty well during the winters in Virginia. But now that I'm in Ga there's next to 0 reason to own one but to cosplay as slav.

Tell me /k/, how stupid would it be to buy a Gorka against rain?
Couldnt i just impregnate the shit out of it and be happy?

It's possible, but the suits themselves aren't even water resistant.

It's a useful, sturdy suit.

Isn't it just a canvas jacket though? Does it have good thermal insulation?

I think they are perfect for the fall
Somewhat waterproof, rugged, comfy, block the wind

One thing is that it is good functional uniform. If you buy from ebay it is dirt cheap also. Additionally it is comfy to wear

different variations, you can get some giant fleecey ones for russian winters

Very stupid. Canvas & no taped seams = eventual leakage. A decent raincoat is by no means cheap, but is a worthwhile investment provided you don't live in a subtropical area.
