What would happen if I tried to fire .380 Auto out of a .38 Special?

Since it doesn't headspace off the rim, most likely it'll just slide into the cylinder farther. Or, with enough friction, it won't slide and will fire form to the cylinder. Might work. I doubt it would damage you or the gun doing it once. But you're asking for trouble eventually

As it is, in your picture, the firing pin won't even reach the primer anyway

What would happen if I tried to fire .303 British out of a .455 Webley?
>>30102370
If it manages to set off the catridge it'll work just fine, they have the same diameter bullet and casings

I'm torn between encouraging you to maim yourself and not condoning destroying a beautiful antique.
Tell you what, go find the most bubba'd, shot out Webley you can and report back.

Seconded

Well. When the cylinder tries to advance it would be blocked by the 303 currently in the barrel, or by the 303 directly next to it, thus preventing the hammer from going back, preventing it from ever going off.

It would be extremely painful

cock the hammer before you close the gun obviously

You can use moonclips to hold them for you. That'll allow them to be struck.
>>30105198
first you'd need to mill the cylinder and ejector so the clips would even fit
