I believe that the reliability/accuracy of the AK and its variants shouldn't be decided based on today's shitty manufacturers, just like the 1911 or AR-15/M4 clones, the quality of the firearm lies in the hands of the manufacturer.

I like combat rifles to be simple without doo dads and gadgets to weigh it down. Im usually very judgemental when I see someone post a mall ninja'd AR whether its got quality stuff on it or not, i get the impression that more likely than not the person doesnt know basic rifleman fundamentals and is the type who will be impressed by hitting a 100 yd target. Im sorry for being so judgemental :'(

.40 is great in a medium to full sized handgun. It's blatantly better than 9mm but I did switch all of my guns to 9mm because of cost to shoot. It's roughly $5 more power box of target ammo to shoot 40 instead of 9mm. If I shoot just 4 boxes of ammo a month that's $20 or $240 a year low balling it, probably over $300 a year for me.
Nobody likes thinking about ammo costs at the range.

Use all the ballistics gel you want, you can't fake a heavier bullet moving with more energy.
With 45 you have to change the design, size, shape whatever of the gun; not so with 40. That is the entire point of the round, the entire reason it exists. You get all the advantages of a 9mm sized gun but you get roughly 30% more energy and more weight which means not only slightly bigger holes in things but less deflection through glass and the like.
It handles just as well put of a medium to large size gun too but with a confident pressure impulse. So excluding pocket guns 40 is just better, 9mm is cheaper. I have all 9mm guns too because I want to shoot as much as possible.
