$650 is a lot to ask for a police trade in.

Welcome to Sigs

It does come with 2 extra mags so scrape off $50 off. German P228's are one of the most desireable German Sigs but it is a bit steep tbqh.

In the condition like in the OP picture (I'd call that 'excellent', with no signs of damage or wear), with no box, $600 would be a fair asking price and $550 would be a fair selling price, IMO. If the included holster is something you would have bought anyway, maybe $650 is in the realm of possibly fair. For police trade-ins, depending on the condition, they can range from as low as $350-400 for a really beat up one (I've seen many sell for that low on Jewbroker), to more in the $500 range for one with moderate wear.

You can get OEM, unmarked magazines new for $19.99 online. Used magazines aren't worth $25 each.
I got my police trade in West German P226 for $540 with shipping and transfer.
Pic related.
Bump?
You can find USP trade ins for around that much. They're better guns than sigs.

Oh fuck.
Don't start that shit again.

sigs are overpriced junk.

The P228's generally sell for a little more than P226's, due maybe to the added utility of being able to conceal-carry them. But yeah, they don't go for THAT much more. The key is waiting for the market to fluctuate. When surplus P228's hit the market, they often do so in large numbers, which can lower the selling prices on Gunbroker.

I picked up a "Certified Pre-Owned" P228 with 2 pre-ban era mags for $600. Sig rated it at "excellent", I would give it a solid 95%. It's been a great pistol and I have no complaints about it. I think $600 was a reasonable price for it.

get it OP, I carried a SIG 226R overseas and it was a tank. 228 is better for concealed and German made is top tier
