Light tank main function is reconnaissance and punching threw enemies lines right?

Lav's and apc's are as fast as a light tank and can have just as much firepower

Planes can do recon more effectively and safely

Why limit it that way?

With active protection, a fv101 could take a lot of abuse, and with LAHAT missiles, it could outrange a conventional tank. Plus, it can be transported by helicopter because its less than 35,000 lbs.

Because IFV's

Not a fan of the trend where everything keeps going up in weight.

In the space of a 105mm turret you can fit 4 guys. So swapping it out of a common chassis for a 20mm gives you the option of creating an ifv.

Why not have a land-based recon drone carrier?

Mounting this on the back of a tank and using it as a spotter would work.
>>
What if we did monster truck derbys, but with old tanks?
