Having a consistent trigger pull Vs. da/sa is better in a adrenaline packed situation.

Also a 10mm round to the arm or leg will be more likely to stop the threat Vs. a 9mm.

But the 19 and 23 are the more compact versions of the 17 and 22. So it's a little more compact then their slightly compact line.

Also it's a longer round so the grip/chamber is longer and the trigger/chamber is further up the gun then on a 9 or 40. So they didn't want to sacrifice too many fps for slight concealability. Also the barrel is 3.77 compared to 4.48 for the 17 and 4.01 in the 19
