Stew's blade/one arm folding slip joint. It's the predecessor to the wave. You can open it by catching the crescent cut out on your pocket as you pull it out.

.thanks familia
>>30055866
(Not him) it is incredibly difficult to get a blade centred on a traditionally made slipjoint. It isnt even important.
>>30055866
Not really. It's less than half a cm off center, it's just a super thin knife. It comes no where close to touching the liners. Also, it'll run you close to $500 and more than a month wait time amigo. Not every pinned knife is going to have perfect centering, it's not something you can go in and fix after.
>>30055897
They're awesome. I've always had a soft spot for slipjoints, and its nice to see some custom ones.
>>30055916
this...
Here's my most expensive fixed blade.
India sambar stag, forged random pattern damascus, sterling silver ferule, and nickel silver fittings. 100% all handmade by the same maker, Dan Graves.
>>30055944
These are the makers shot after he finished my order. He sent these to me prior to shipping to make sure I was content with my order.
>>30055961
Here's another fixed blade from the same maker that I carry 1-3 times a week in a pocket sheath. It's very slip and disapears in your pocket. I think the overall length is just under 7 inches.
350$ I think
Not terribly expensive but it's the most I've spent
>>30056010

Goddamn you are making me want to get a custom knife. They're fucking stunning. How much did you pay for them? Also its nice to know you actually use it. How does it perform?
>>30056038
Surprisingly cheap for what you get. ~225 for each with leather. I guess that's Arkansas for you though.
The hunter is surprisingly stout and you could probably get away with using it as a camp knife as while. It preforms well.
The pocket fixed blade is perfect on so many levels. It's so easy to carry without people noticing, it's got amazing ergos, and the blade shape is great for weekend chores around the house/yard.

No, that is only a large. Here's an XL.
Is there any negative to this besides that it costs 740$

Fucking why? Just get a decent axe head and put a handle on it. Literally just go down to ace hardware and you can get a functional axe that will last longer than you.
>>30075438
Too big to be pleasant to carry all day, every day, too small for serious chopping. Any old SOG tomahawk, firefighter's hatchet or crash-axe will do just as well.
>>30075438
Top one looks stupid as fuck, functionality wise. Why are they $740? What steel/handle materials? How are they made? Where are they made? If you just want a beater, just do what >>30075461 said. It's kinda hard to fuck up an axe, unless you purposely abuse it

>>30075438
Just buy an axehead from a garage sale or second hand store for like $5 and make a good axe yourself, I've done that with my axe and splitting maul and it works well
If you want something more geared towards fighting or whatever I can recommend talking to L. Driggers on SBG forums as I personally own a tomahawk from him that I love

Apparently they are awful, not even trolling. I have no firsthand experience but I have yet to find a positive review that even seems semi-objective. Pressure falls off massively from shot to shot, they don't reach the energy levels crossman claims, and they aren't very accurate. For the money you can get a Condor PCP, which yeah, it's not a "big bore" airgun, but it's at least really nice.

Buy what you want, faggots annoy me saying you should never spend over so much on a knife. All that says is you cant afford it and youre butthurt about it.
>>30088901
>Buy what you want,
This is true. if you want something expensive, only your wallet can limit you.
>All that says is you cant afford it and youre butthurt about it.
This is false. after about 100-150 bucks, knives don't get better for the price. do what thou wilt with your money, but it's not about being able to afford one, it's about being able to justify one.
I could easily drop 400 on some Chris Reeve knife, but it wouldn't be any functionally difference from an ESEE 6 or something.
at 400 bucks, i can get a decent pistol or shotgun. Hell, i could put down 400 and get a decent sword. something that takes a shitload more effort to make.
>>30089008
Depends on what you mean by "better for the money"?? Does a $100 knife cut meat or slice boxes or mugger better than a $5000 knife?? Probably not. Is it made with stronger steel or lighter more exotic materials? Was it assembled completely or partially by hand or is it stamped out? Did someone spend a lot of time on it or made it special for you? My point was there are a lot of dicks on these threads that are butthurt and down talk everybody elses shit because all they have is sporting store special.
>>30089008
>Does a $100 knife cut meat or slice boxes or mugger better than a $5000 knife?
No, this has little to do with quality though and everything about what edge grind and blade profile your knife has.
>it made with stronger steel or lighter more exotic materials?
for 150, you'll get some of the best steel money can buy, unless your knife is made of carbon nanotubes, Diminishing returns hit around the 150-200 mark. O1 toolsteel or the highest quality tempered and hardened 1090 are the best for factory knives.
I'll admit the real damn fancy knife steels like M390 or CPM S90V are sub 300. this isn't because they're better quality steel however, it's because these are special order knife kinda steels.
>assembled completely or partially by hand or is it stamped out? Did someone spend a lot of time on it or made it special for you?
I'll admit, custom knives are pricey for a reason, but that's more for labor time than anything else.
>My point was there are a lot of dicks on these threads that are butthurt and down talk everybody elses shit because all they have is sporting store special.
I agree with you on this.
>>30089152
Whoops, linked my own post. meant for >>30089073
>>30089152
You're absolutely right, it's not sour grapes about not having the disposable income to be able to purchase higher quality items, it's just the diminishing returns you're concerned about. It's not that in addition to being tools knives can be a luxury item, and those who can afford them are more than happy to eat the diminishing returns because they can afford the quality. Who wants a Bugatti when they could have your 1992 Dodge Dart? That Bugatti doesn't go 2000x faster to justify the price, idiots. Right?
>>30089492
a 100,000 dollar AR made of titanium that does literally nothing over a noveske is stupid, and you should be called stupid.
That doesn't mean you don't have the right to get it. but you're also not immune to being called an idiot either.
buy what you want, but don't cry when someone points out you have less brain than money.
