Hey, canadian army res fag checking in. I want to build myself an AR that will shoot as similar to my issue AR as possible. I want to work on my marksman ship with my service rifle, it's steeply declined as I'm in the artillery and range days are few and far between. I want to do this as cheaply as possible. Bonus points for info as to how I could aquire ivi ammo as well.

The Diemaco SA20 is a civilian version of the C7 made by the same company (Colt Canada)

You could not get any closer

>>

Your unit still have Hi Powers for their pistols?
>>
>>30043825
Yeah, broke as Fuck hi powers. Fucking garbage.
>>
>>30043443
SFRC has some IVI pistol ammo- you could try e-mailing them and asking if they can order 5.56.
>>
Yo kinda hijacking this thread, but can you buy legit canadian green ar furniture stateside? Specifically fixed stock? I've seen some on google looks like almost, can't really tell if the color is right though.
>>
>>30045739
Not really, it's pretty much made exclusively for military issue rifles by Colt Canada/Diemaco. You can find knockoff stuff though, and they did a very small run of it for some civie AR15s in Canada.
>>
>>30045739
Armalite, Rock River, and Model 1 sales all used to offer OD A2 stocks, I would check them first. Just get the other furniture from whomever you pick as well so it matches.
>>
>>30043443
Wait a minute... I thought ARs are illegal in Canada, what's our secret other than being part of the military/law enforcement for extra goodies?
>>
>>30045739
You can they made some for the sa20.

They are pretty expansive like 400 dollars for the set.

just FYI for OP

With Colt canada/Diemaco making sa20 and sa15.7 you can pretty much get a bang on clone of the c7 and c8s. If you want authenticity colt canada is the way to go. I got a sa20

Not illegal, just range toys only and they have to be registered, just like handguns.
>Also 5 round magazines
Pic related I own without any registration
>>
>>30045998
>have to be registered

That was abolished years ago.
>>
>>30046011
AR15s are classified restricted firearms, like handguns, and so have to be registered. Semi automatics with a barrel length shorter than 18.5" and fire centerfire ammunition also fall into this category. My rifle has an 18.6" barrel and is therefore Non restricted and doesn't need registration.
>>
>>30046025
So you really can't get xenterfired semi automatic SBRs. At least you can get SBS, right?
>>
>>30046032
Yeah we can, they're just range toys only, and they need to be registered. Shotguns fire centerfire ammo and so semi auto ones with a short barrel length need to be registered as well. It isn't difficult to get at all, just get a restricted license (one extra test), then you can buy as many as you want, easier to get than in the USA. The main shitty part is that they can only legally be shot at a range. That being said, if it's manual action they are still non restricted.
>>
>>30045980
> not Canadian, just a commonwealther in a shitty communist island
Has to be ausfalia. Kiwis and Kanucks are allowed some big boys toys.
>>
>>30046060
you can legally shoot restricteds on your own property is bylaws don't prohibit discharge, but the police don't know this so be careful
