I need a semi-auto pistol with a hammer that you do not have to rack the slide on to cock and works similarly to a double action revolver

what guns do this?
>>
>>29985650
The one pictured, with an LEM trigger. Most popular DA/SA guns have a DAO variant.

Technically D/SA is double action. Just thought I'd get that out of the way.
>>
>>29985669
Anything smaller than that for CC?

You know what you must do. Legion or bust.
>>
>>29985807
The usp compact
>>
>>29985807
USP Compact, P2000, P228/229, then there's subcompacts like the P2000sk, P224. Those are just examples from HK and Sig that come to mind, like I said what you're talking about is a common option.
>>
>>29985807
PPK?
>>
All DA pistols can be manually cocked, hence the DA

DAOs don't have that option

P239 or bust
>>
>>29985848
PPK is perfect

how much do they go for and where should I buy from?

Make sure it's a real Walther. I don't know much about PPKs, but I've heard bad things about P99 clones, so I assume the same thing applies.

How does that compare to a P-83?
>>
>>29985970
They're both simple blowback guns. I can't answer your question, because these never interested me.
>>
>>29985872
Check out the Makarov as well
>>
>>29985650
HK, Sig, Beretta, CZ make multiple DA/SA pistol models, many of which offer DAO options.
>>
>>29985650
As far as acting exactly like a revolver? The Browning BDA is the only thing I know of.

For DA/SA: HK, Sig, CZ, Beretta, etc...

Meant: >BDM
>>
>>29985650
There are a number of DA/SA options including Sig, CZ, Beretta, HK and some others. I know Sig makes a double action only variant of many of their handguns.
>>
why exactly does DAO exist?

What you're referring to, double action, is common on semi-auto pistols. You'll find a lot of hammer-fired handguns that are DA/SA (first shot is double action, subsequent shots are single action). You'll also find DAO (double action only), but you can't cock the hammer manually with these - every shot is obligate double action. Companies that make guns like this are HK, Sig, CZ, and Beretta. Ruger and Smith & Wesson also used to make guns like this but now only make striker-fired pistols.

>>29988016
The main drawback of DA/SA style firing systems is the fact that the first and second trigger pulls are two different weights, which makes the guns harder to shoot. You have to really train yourself, or you have to think consciously about it, in order to not screw up that second shot.

Holy shit that chart is autistic. Also:

>NEEDS a manual safety
Poor word choice. Needs one in order to what?
>>
>>29988220
>I don't understand why someone pays attention to details when I go through life like an idiot
>MUST BE AUTISTIC!!

Dude, fuck you. If you don't want to understand, then don't ask questions.

Jesus. Talk about autistic buttblast.

So answer my question. Why does any SAO pistol NEED a manual safety? Because it's a light, consistent 3 - 5 pound trigger? Oh wait...

Glock: 5.5 pounds
M&P: 6.5 pounds
VP9: 5.4 pounds
PPQ: 5.6 pounds
P320: 5.5 pounds

Yeah, so much safer!
>>
>>29988514
Yeah, you're a dumbass.

> Because it's a light, consistent 3 - 5 pound trigger?
Swing and a miss.

>Glock: 5.5 pounds
>M&P: 6.5 pounds
>VP9: 5.4 pounds
>PPQ: 5.6 pounds
>P320: 5.5 pounds
All these guns have safeties built into the trigger to prevent inadvertent firing from the inertia of the trigger when the gun is dropped on its rear.
>>
>>29985868
Mah

But DA/SA guns are notorious for being pretty big. Don't expect to have one the size as something like a Glock 43. The P230/232 is pretty small but not 9mm
>>
>>29985650
Am.....am I the only one here who thinks OP is an idiot?
>>
>>29988937
You're the only one. Read the fucking thread.
>>
>>29985807
rami?
>>
>>29988514

Most true single-action semi autos, like the 1911 and Browning Hi Power didn't have firing pin blocks in their original configurations, necessitating a manual safety. You know, so you don't trip and shoot your friend by accident.

All of the guns you list are striker-fired, and all of them have safeties integrated into the action of the gun.

Go see how drop safe a TT-33 is.

I have half a mind to force a swerve on this thread and start trolling about trigger safeties because all you jackoffs are being so fucking autistic about this shit.

If you actually think trigger safeties prevent back drop discharges you're also being fucking retarded. There's these things that are called strikers that usually contribute to a firearm discharging. I know it sounds insane but it does happen.
>>
>>29988937
I'm looking for something you don't have to use both hands to cock and you don't have to use both hands to fire

I just want a one handed pocket gun.

p250 or p320
>>

Then you're looking for a revolver.
