Has anyone ever sent one of their handguns off for a custom trigger job? Thinking of sending my German P226 off to get a 7lb DA pull.

If you spent +$100 on yours, would you say it was worth it from the results you've got whether it's an HK, Sig, CZ or Beretta?

I bought a custom CZ Shadow from the CZ Custom Shop for competition shooting. Before I got my custom Shadow, I was using my SP-01 Tactical for local steel target speed shooting...

It was well worth it. The difference between my SP-01 Tactical or any other run of the mill over the counter handgun is like night and day. Pic is my Shadow. It roughly equivalent to this current model from the CZ Custom Shop:

Except mine cost $1200.

I also bought this gun as a backup competition handgun, a custom CZ-75 SA with a Shadow upper and no firing pin block. You look at it harshly and the trigger breaks.

the SA gun would put you into Limited/Standard, no?

This sounds like a recipe for light primer strikes. Lightening the trigger pull that much will almost certainly be done by means of cutting coils off the hammer spring. It also sounds like something that people do instead of actually learning how to shoot their fucking guns. Sigs have such a nice double action trigger pull that, if you can't shoot it, you need to put some more effort into your training. Spend that $100 on a private instructor for a day and have him teach you what the fuck you're doing wrong.

>>29950771
The period is apparently their notation for pounds. 2.0oz = 2 lb 0 oz.
>>
>>29950778
Then I was at my local Cabela's once and they had an X-Five Level-1 there in stock for $2500.
https://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProductDetails/p226-x-five.aspx

I got to finger fuck the shit out of it. I almost bought it that day, but I couldn't justify spending $2500 on a range toy. You see, since then I had to stop steel target shooting because of eye problems.
>>
>>29950771
i think its 2 lb's 15 oz man

I know it's not a carry gun or anything, and it's not like you're going to have this thing in your waistband, but my god man that trigger weight is malnourished Darfur refugee tier.

You're right. These people definately look like they don't know shit.

Finally, about a year or so ago, I was in a different LGS, and they had an EAA Witness Elite Match in 38Super. It's single action and has almost as good a trigger as the Level-1. Best of all, it was only $720.

So, to conclude my story from these posts, >>29950614 >>29950700 >>29950746 >>29950778 >>29950890 save your money and get a Witness Elite Match.

If you really were a competition shooter, and perfecting the trigger feel of your gun was actually this critical to drop the extra millisecond from your splits, then that's one thing. 99% of the people who get custom trigger jobs on their handguns don't fall into this category, though. Most people just lighten their gun's trigger so they don't have to learn to actually shoot well and can just lean on the light trigger as a crutch.
>>
>>29950952
But what happened to the light primer strikes
>>
>>29950802
It wasn't formal competition, just local steel target speed shooting.
http://www.lagator.org/lssclubpage.html

They only had 22, limited and open divisions.
>>
>>29950700
I just got my factory SP-01 and was wondering about trigger jobs in the future. It's my first gun so I'm not concerned with doing it now, but considering CZ Custom was where I bought it since they're right here in town, the option is there and easy.
>>
>>29950641
Get the short reset kit for 50 bucks, Gray Guns P SAIT for 62.50 and then send it to sig for action enhancement for 235 including round trip shipping.
>>
>>29950960
Nothing happened to them. They will still occur.
>>
>>29950871
>Lightening the trigger pull that much will almost certainly be done by means of cutting coils off the hammer spring.

I seriously doubt they cut coils off the hammer spring. I'm not as familiar with Sigs, but for CZ's they sell lighter weight main springs and recoil springs.

>will almost certainly be done by means of cutting coils off the hammer spring
Some of us aren't Mexican, and don't lower our cars or modify our firearms that way. Instead, we send our cars to qualified mechanics and our firearms to qualified gunsmiths who will use new parts if necessary to get the desired effect.

Yeah, my trigger weights are in pounds, not ounces.

I suppose these guys, >>29950884 >>29950894 are correct.

They do have LBS in the field name before the underlined part where they filled in the trigger weight.
>>
>>29950700
those grips are pimp as fuck
where does one acquire such things
>>
>>29951137
I met a guy who had a fancy CZ 22 and had the trigger pull so low my electronic trigger pull gauge couldn't measure it
It was somewhere between 1 and 5 oz though because it kept varying

If he closed the bolt too hard, it would go off
>>
>>29951067
>these gunsmiths are "pros"
>that means they never do anything niggery ever :)
>>
>>29951400
Considering he linked http://thesigarmorer.com/ which is one of four places that I've seen recommended for Sigs, he is in fact "pro." If you want work done on a Sig your options are Sig Custom Shop, the Sig Armorer, Gray Guns and Apex, whose gunsmith iirc used to work at Gray Guns.
>>
>>29951400
>>29950871
I'm sorry you're fucking retarded and don't know how to lighten triggers without lightening springs
>>
>>29950884
Yeah but you don't say $1,30 cents.
