Finally hasguns edition
Just bought my first piece, /k/. After roughly a year of lurking, I am finally a hasguns. Paid $230 for this Russian SKS from 1954. How'd I do?
Other than the stock being kinda fucked in a few places from the cosmo and general dings and scratches, the rifle appears to be in excellent condition (to the best of my knowledge). The only serial number that doesn't match the rest is the magazine, but that's ok because I intend on getting a different one anyways. It has a "AT" as the first two characters in the serial number, wondering if anyone knows what factory made it?

>$230 for AKA
Holy fuck, did I fall through some sort of wormhole through time?
But seriously, that was a damn good price for an SKS these days. A steal, really. Good work, OP.

Sans the pack

Bumpin with muh SKS
>what factory made it
Post pic of the symbol on it, that's the easiest way to tell what arsenal made it
Also, looks like it's from westrifle, you did good, looks like a beauty, enjoy it

Assuming the rifling on the barrel is intact and the action works, you did very well.
If there's an arrow within a triangle it's from the Tula factory.

canuck?

Arrow in a triangle is Izhevsk, Tula is an arrow in a star

Well shit, now I feel retarded.
Nice find OP, I got one from the same year.
But I have a problem friends. Im a canadafag and I got a Baur Arms 5/30 mag for mine. However I found that the Last bolt hold open function does not work with this mag. Is this normal? Are there other 20-30 round box mags that actually trigger the function?
The pin that holds the magazine spring rod to the follower in my internal mag just disappeared while shooting the other day.
I found the follower on the ground after dumping the rounds out of the bottom when it FTF'd. The pin/rivet/screw/whateverthefuck is MIA.
Anyone know a reasonably priced norinco 10 rd box mag for sale online?
Or does anyone have any ideas how to fix it?

Also if anyone is in the Eugene, OR area, theres a nice matching Norinco for sale at Cabelas for $350. Pretty much the best price you can find for one these days.

tule sks made in 1951
Chinese Type 56, $375 last Wednesday. Four digit SN, everything's original except stock, gas tube, and mag. Shoots like a charm. Worked plenty of cosmo out too.

And here's my friend posing with it.
You did really well! I love my norinco paratrooper, got it for $325 a couple years ago so you got a good price.
I don't even care if I hit anything; I just cackle while I shoot the sucker. Steel mag that came with mine sucked but the tapco mags were gtg.
Question: Got this Type 56 like two years ago. All the serials are different or non-existent on the parts and there's no factory stamp. My research showed that China did make Type 56's to be exported to the NVA that looked pretty much the same. Is there any other possibility? The stock has some wear and tear on it.
