Question to combat vets and LEOs. I'm from /pol/ but I want to see from /k/'s perspective if this could even be feasible

If we were to bring commerce to less affluent areas in America, we have the community and consumer's guarantee that they will be safe with police presence, but an auxiliary force among the community?

If you could be an auxiliary police officer for your community to patrol with the cops, and if there was an incentive for you to do it, would you?
>>
>>29936627
You can't give power to those with nothing to lose and/or a lack of regulation. I hate to say it but most cops won't break the rules because they would lose their livelyhood, some rent-a-cop soldier of fortune wannabe could probably cut and run whenever he wants.
They'd probably abuse the system whenever they good, whether it breaks the rules to suit them or their ideals (street justice).
>>
>auxiliary force among the community?

It's already done in many place, the time, training, and financial commitment means you will not attract less affluent members of the community and background screening is always an issue with a volunteer force.
>>
>>29936682

Then set parameters.

Psych screening to weed out PTSD

Just because you wear a bunch of tactical gear, doesn't mean you're an operator

Who would pay those people to be there, and what would they bring to the table that cops wouldn't.

Trust from the community and customers and workers that they will be safe in the bad area.

Public trust.

First of all, fuck you. You're all worthless.

Second of all, it can be done but it requires a tight knit community. People have to trust and be willing to put shit on the line for each other.

That's what concealed carry is for. Stay strapped and shoot the dindus causing trouble.
>>
>>29936904
why would people trust them more than the police
>>
>>29936989
Because in the case of an active shooter, cops can tell you are a community leader by your gumption, duh.
>>
>>29936675
You think this isn't what cops do?
>>
>>29937052
Cops have a constant regulation, procedures, and accountability

This already exists, it just has a different name. A lot of rural areas use part-time deputies, for instance. Kind of like the police equivalent of volunteer firefighters.

Honestly, that's why I carry one of these whenever I exercise my CCW permit, as a positive proof that I can safely engage an enemy.

nah you can just buy them

If I was an LEO, I would actually want civilians to carry these to properly identify themselves
>>
>>29937688
Why?
>>
>>29937688
Badge is cringe tier and looks too much like a LEO's badge. The license itself would suffice.

These are actually more practical, less likely to get you in trouble. I'm thinking of carrying one rolled up in a belt pouch.

I actually include one of these in my EDC kit because it doesn't really weigh anything and I haven't heard a convincing argument as to why I SHOULDN'T use it.

they're pretty common, actually. the place near me that does ccw training recommends having them on hand

That's the dumbest damn thing I've seen yet. Given the trigger-happy nature of much of Americas police forces, I highly doubt they'd pay attention to the sash.
>>
>>29937511

They're ultra-cringe and identify the owner as an asshole wannabee, a zimzam waiting to happen.

Naturally they're sold at gun shows.
>>
>>29937993
>they're pretty common, actually. the place near me that does ccw training recommends having them on hand

Naturally, because they charge you ten bucks for it. The fuck are they for, identifying yourself if the cops show up? If the shooting is already over, you're already on the phone with the cops and the dispatcher has already described to the responding officers what you look like and what you're wearing. If not, you're still engaging the threat and don't have time to unroll and don a stupid fucking sash.

10/10 you got me
