hey /k/ what state is the most free?
>>
>>29921848
No u
>>
>>29921848
Alaska is the most free. There's nobody around to tell you what you can and can't do.
>>
>>29921848
Alaska, Arizona, Louisiana.
>>
Depends on what you mean by free. If you're naked and alone in the wilderness are you free?
>>
New Hampshire. It's got the free state project
>>
>>29921913
Alaska has a lot of federal law enforcement that shit on people if they suspect them of poaching which is hunting for food when it's not in season. There's a show called wild Alaska or something where they show the cops there who are basically glorified park rangers going around arresting people who are just trying to fuck off in the woods alone. Good reason I guess though, humans have already killed off enough species of animals.

Arizona is pretty free, wild west status. I actually hate it, nobody follows the rules of the road and people get shot all the time. The inner city police are pretty militarized though, the sheriff patrol SUVs look like tanks and they wear plate carriers decked out with gear. The laws are actually pretty solid though, they may look intimidating but they can't arrest you for something stupid because you really can claim 'muh rights'

Vermont and Texas I hear are also pretty "free"
>>
>>29921958
>libertarians
>for freedom

They're going to get rid of all the laws and get flooded with illegal aliens then have to resort to militarization, if they even make it past getting raped by exploitative corporations.

People should shoot any gun they want, drink anything they want, and smoke anything they want. Unless you are harming your fellow man or infringing on other's rights you should enjoy personal freedom and liberties. It's the American way.
>>
>>29922003
Can someone explain this "season" stuff regarding hunting to me? There's no hunting culture in my country.
>>

Mormons are no better than califags, just slightly more pro-gun
>>
>>29922230
There is a certain timespan in which one can hunt a certain animal

In the us, you can usually hunt deer for only a few weeks yet you can hunt squirrels for months

First you got to define what 'freedom' is.
>>

And yet, when industry has the freedom to move aboard and working class Americans are disadvantaged, you get a ton of support for 'more government control' populist, Trump.

People often conflate 'freedom' with 'personal success' a lot. When working class Americans are faced with 'freedom means you lose' scenario, they become "niggers" themselves, asking for big government man to bring back the jobs for them.

'Freedom' and 'safety' are more interconnected than you realize to the majority of people.

How low do you make the taxes that would keep jobs in America? I don't think we can set the taxes low enough.

What we are seeing in america right now is a repeat of sorts of what happened in the late roman republic.

Where successful land owners purchased more land and slaves and made the small roman farming societies unable to compete and migrate to the cities. Just replace roman farmers and latifundia, with mom and pop stores getting rekted by Walmart.

Do you... A) Redistribute land with Gracchus brothers-land reforms? (Redistribution of wealth).
B) Let the citizenry live off the dole? (welfare).
C) Let the citizenry keep losing, lose your political systems legitimacy, and get replaced with populists?

Freedom, doesn't even enter the equation anymore.

I'm not saying no one decent is in the position, but every time someone tells me that they are almost always awful workers.

I worked in retail for (unfortunately) almost a decade and every time I heard someone say that it was the piece of shit that showed up half the time or spent an hour in the bathroom on top of their 10 breaks. You can't really fire someone for being a bad worker (for some reason) so you just cut their hours. Gee I wonder why.

The good employees might get a bad start but generally once someone in management catches on to them showing up and staying there 98% of the time the hours increase. And if they want moving up is pretty fast.

The high rate of unemployment and poverty in ancient Rome was hardly due to the laziness of its people, but the policies of its leadership which made sure the tax burden fell hardest on the middle class.

Uh, you're implying that this was the only reason why the empire collapsed. You're retarded. Trade stagnated, which meant less wealth for everyone. The western empire had less wealth than the eastern empire did and ended up with more costs of running shit and the problems of dealing with barbarian such as the visigoths who saw Rome, the long hated enemy weakening.

Roman generals constantly fought each other and new emperors were popping up every few years when the previous one got assassinated. All of that infighting drained the states coffers quite handily. The infighting also drained the number of available trained soldiers who could defend the empire. Visigoths and other barbarians started to test the waters and realized that the time was ripe. They sacked Rome handily.

The rich weren't the sole determining factor in the fall of the empire. The fact that the Roman legions were loyal to their generals rather than to Rome contributed in a big way to the in fighting and constant removal of emperors. In fighting draining the state coffers (which resulted in increased taxation, by the way) was a way larger contributor than "muh ebul rich people boogeymen."

Oh, and the legions changing their doctrine away from large scale warfare largely to small scale skirmish style warfare made them more vulnerable when the barbarians eventually banded together to go fuck up Rome.
>>
>>29923685
You see, the freedom there is the ability to make dumb decisions. Freedom would not entail automatic support from the government for said dumb decisions.

Freedom would be getting pregnant, having the baby and then giving up all of your life plans, working your ass to the bone or whoring yourself out for food. Or just starving. Because freedom doesn't mean freedom from natural selection. Ignorance is its own death sentence.
>>
>>29923961
>I have nothing of value to say
>logic!

My point is, everyone works a shitty job at some point unless they are born into money. People who get stuck with shitty jobs, probably got what they deserved. I work a shitty job, and have a good chance of getting out of it because after my 8 hour work day, i'm in school, or at the gym which means I ultimately "work" for about 12 hours a day, only being paid for 8 of those hours.

If D'Kwayvious Jones decided to work an extra 4 hours on stuff that matters, he's have a chance like I do, at getting a better life. Rather, he may spend his money of malt liquor and weed.

Which, i'm sure you do as well. Hence your attitude.

But if you keeping your excess wealth is keeping some poor family from eating, then who is really infringing on who's freedom?

Keynesianism, social democracy, etc. don't arise out of a reaction to libertarianism. They are its logical conclusions. I would submit that a society that pays more taxes yet has its education, healthcare, shelter, food, etc. guaranteed for them is more free than one where these things are dependant on unstable and unpredictable economic trends which may or may not remain favourable. In short, move to Finland or Canada, where you are more free than some redneck state.

There is no government quick fix. Everything they are going to do in the near future through heavy taxation and wealth redistribution will not only fail, it will exacerbate the underlying issue.

The only actual "fix" to our economic plight lies not in the hands of our elected officials, but in the hands of the mass of common consumers. USA is far too large a percent of the global economy for manufacturers of goods to ignore (you don't run a successful business cutting out 1 out of every 5 dollars by virtue of not offering your product to 20% of the economy). If American consumers simply made educated decisions concerning purchasing only from companies that did not shift jobs over seas, that practice a healthy and sustainable wage philosophy that doesn't focus solely on shareholders and corporate executives, and that still provided goods and services at acceptable prices we would have a healthy economy with a steady middle class (and a lower class that can at least survive without living solely off of government subsidization...though they would need some help still).
>>
>>29924293
Well, okay, you left-leaning bastard. Show us the statistics. If you're so right and it is clear as day, lay it out for me, because it seems pretty fucking contested at the moment.
>>
>>29923009
>>29925435

This will not happen. We will continue to shop at the retailers that save us a dollar at the expense of our long term economic health. People do not care about tomorrow. This will lead to more and more government interference in the hopes of managing wealth distribution as the ever-growing lower class holds more power in our democratic state. Electable officials will continue to pander to this large and steadily growing voter class in order to gain office. We will vote away our economy and liberties while maintaining shopping habits that reward the companies which also degrade our economy at the same time.

Freedom is everything in this situation we are in. We cannot force people to shop responsibly or force companies to practice a sustainable business philosophy when the quick buck at the future's expense will always be an option. Short of firm market/currency manipulation (think China) there is no way our government can fix the issue.

Congrats, we are fucked and there is no fixing the situation because it requires consumers to be well informed adults.

American citizens are not going to learn to make rational decisions in the marketplace is the government keeps getting the authority to make those decisions for them.

Don't forget awesome ccw laws in Nevada:

>no duty to inform police that you're carrying
>"no gun" signs do NOT hold the weight of law on private property (suck it Arizona and Texas!)
>can ccw into bars
>can drink while carrying a gun up to 0.10 BAC and it's totally legal

your states so broke their trying to legalize weed.

i know when im passing threw KY because the road gets super shitty.

litterally every scum bag that comes threw my shop is from KY.

the only thing your state has is ft. Campbell, and fuck 101st it was a horrible duty station.
>>
>>29929361

>your state is so broke

no, it isn't'. In fact we have some of the fastest growing cities in the country, and a rapidly expanding logistics and warehousing industry that employees a ridiculous number of people.

>I know because blah blah the road

Highway maintenance takes a backseat to important spending like police departments, jails, fire departments, etc. Unlike most states where they have beautiful roads, no cops, running out of jails (i'm looking at you ohio) and other funding problems.... but fuck they have nice roads.

>every scum bag that comes threw my shop
>threw my shop
>threw

I don't know where you are, or what kind of shop we're talking about, but I do know that when you work in customer service you learn to hate all customers. also, YOUR shop? you mean the shop you work at. YOU don't own shit, and you know it.

>Can shoot to stop any felony
>Unrestricted open carry
>Unrestricted SBR, AOW
>Muh weed
>No law against being drunk and having a gun
>State preemption against gun laws
>No carry signs have no force of law
>Can shoot coyotes off season with any lisence, no limit, no rules.
>Lots of NF and BLM wilderness which is basically no rules except for no machines.
>No duty to inform
>Can leave loaded gun in vehicle (pistol only)

Lack of freedom
>No constitutional carry
>No state preemption against knife laws.
>No open drinking.
>No guns in a 21 and up area
>21 and up areas must be marked and have a stupid little fence around them (beer garden/baby gated bar)
>movie theaters are 21 and up if alcohol is allowed in the theater, concert venues can only be considered restaurants if it's a sit down joint.
>Must wear "I'm too stupid to not shoot anyone not wearing" orange in deer season.

But most illegal immigrants are quite used to having a gangster government back home, and will gladly vote for one as long as they get to be on the winning side of all the loot for a change.

Legal immigrants, meanwhile, who actually by and large seem to believe in individual liberty and responsibility, are often more unhappy about the legals than the native-born... but, that never makes the news.

Eh, I'm not even an alcohal drinker, but Utah offends me saying I can't more than two drinks at a resturant and force me to got to single fedrral liqouer store.

That's like if California bans all the guns, but the fed steps in and places a single federal gun shop that only has fudd guns.

>I would submit that a society that pays more taxes yet has its education, healthcare, shelter, food, etc. guaranteed for them is more free
and you'd be wrong. that's not an aspect of freedom, whether it leads to something good or bad.
also, it wouldn't even be a good. why does America dominate in all top 20 universities lists but is ranked around 14th in education? why does it rank 40 ish in healthcare efficiency but dominates top 20 lists of hospitals? meanwhile canada has just 1 in the top 50 (alberta health services at 26).
you lose something when you forfeit control of it to the government. I'd say you're much more free in a country where, if you have the money for it, you can get the best treatment or education in the world than in one where you're forced to receive shit services.
>>
>>29926204
Uh...hate to break it to you but Nevada is the one place I'd not want to be in a shtf.

Every scrap of food and drop of water is from out of state.

If for some reason Las Vegas was cut off from the rest of the world for a months, all of the food would be gone in first month and men will feast on the flesh of other men and drink blood on the second month.
