What do you all think of 300 blackout?
>>29914810
It makes for a neat short range subsonic plinker. There are better performing chamberings for the AR platform if your goal is long range ballistics or terminal effectiveness.

Agreed. I figured it had enough punch to make engagements of 100 yds or less effective. A nothing over that I think I might go for .308 / lapua.

Red anybody?

300 blackout is fucking awesome suppressed. Subsonic rounds are hollywood quiet and breddy gud out to further than you will ever shoot. It is also great out of short barrels as it burns all its powder quickly. If you're running a silenced SBR it's the absolute tits, and the further you get away from silenced SBR the worse it gets.

> 300 BLK gave me an excuse to get into reloading
I like rolling and shooting my own 125gr loads. However, if the hearing protection act goes through, I'll can up and start shooting subs.
I like mine
Most versatile cartridge for the AR <300 yards.

apparently you can get into ~11cpr reloads with .300blk
I buy brass 5.56 and save it for when I get into .300 and reload.
I'm liking mine more and more and desperately need to get into reloading to feed it

Many of us started on a cheap lee.
But a top uality rcbs single stage kit can be had for $250 if you hunt deals.
If your going progressive just go dillion.
I regret my hornady lnl progressive so much. ( i love my hornady 50bmg and their iron press, both have worked great) the LnL progressive was a nightmare to adjust and keep running. I gave up on using it to prime. And the timing paws kept needing adjustment.

That Whitt Machine suppressed .300 upper is so sexy. Would love to own one someday.

I typically get hit about 35¢ per reload, but I'm using jacketed bullets like the Speer TNT. I'm always looking for a cheaper source for .308 bullets. I don't want to bother with casting just yet.
I collect my brass when shooting store bought 5.56. Half goes into the 5.56 reloading bin, and the other half goes to make 300 BLK brass.
Store bought ammo is still at the 85-90¢ mark.

I'm still in college in a small two room apartment, so I don't think I have room for such activities. My parents live 45 minutes away so I literally might just turn my old room into a gun work room/reloading shit and a bed

Not an excuse. I reloaded in a studio apartment with a lee clamped to a table
