What the hell does an infantry or insurgent infantry force do against a Drone Swarm?

Each Drone carries a single anti-personnel grenade.

Seriously, how is infantry not completely fucked against Drone Swarms?
>>
>>29906631

how fragile are they? they look flimsy enough that a portable multi-barrel platform could lock on and engage them all at once, like a fusillade of mini-stingers. slap one onto an infantryman and he can take out a dozen in one shot. either that or a short range airburst concussion weapon that blasts them with goop or some shit to gum up their rotor blades
>>
>>29906631
Bird shot? Was this supposed to be a stumping question
>>
>>29906631
Attack the launcher. It's just another kind of artillery, really.

How does infantry deal with mortar sections, or machine gun nests? Stay out of the open, keep moving, and hit the launchers.

>>29907125

That's all well and good, but you're looking at loiter times of around 2-3 hours per drone after being launched. They're effectively a homing minefield that can stay out of sight until a target is lit.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

We are probably gonna end up with 3 types of drones.

>amateur built and jammable
>professionally built
>professionally built with AI

The amateur hour stuff will be easy to kill. The professionally made stuff will probably end up being killed by helicopters, or low-end jets.

The ones run by AI i have no answer for.

Autonomous hunter killer drones could be a reality soon

Just in time for the US to mount lasers on top of all their armored vehicles

Infantry uses light ECM / signal interference!

Its super effective!
>>
1: Backpack mounted auto turret, for one. Like the Phalanx.

2: Wide area jammer. The processors on those things need to acquire targets and right now that's done manually. No network, no kablooey.

3: I'd be far more worried about them being used as anti-tank weapons and flying into tanks in order to detonate shaped charges.

>What the hell does an infantry or insurgent infantry force do against a Drone Swarm?
Nothing. Just die. It is future of warfare launchers lobbing shitloads of missiles and drones at each other.

>mortar sections, or machine gun nests?
Mortar sections and machine guns nest don't fly above your head.
>>
>>29906631
And exactly how are drone swarms supposed to find the insurgent infantry force? It isn't easy now with human operators backed by an entire command office let alone when they will have to act somewhat autonoumously because each drone in a swarm won't be individually controlled.

And that's not even counting on enemy troops using portable emp's and jamming devices.

Something going 10 m/s at 200 meters range already requires 10 meters lead. Have fun eyeballing it. Also
>lasing target at 200 meters
>place crosshair and shooting 1 sec after, target at 190 meters already but grenade is set to 200 metres
>wat to do?

>>29906631
Stop worring about what the military would do against drones and start worring about what you would do against it.

Drones like that would be much more effective against a crowded arena with a concert or sporting event going on. 20 of those going off at the superbowl or world cup would be devestating.

spacing unless of course you have one drone per soldier and all of them make it undetected plus how would you guide them smoke could conceal the troops and them a drone is going to be slow as shit so any dipshit with a 30rnd mag could probably hit it honestly its like /k/ is full of noguns neverserveds

thats not how airburst works faggot, airburst is a timed fuse that is either set by the user or a targeting computer to defeat defilade
>>
>>29910171
>target is approx 200m away
>set range for anywhere between 100-150m
>walk fire into the bitch
It might work. If it doesn't, then airburst HE munitions from a larger AGL would still be an effective counter.

You've also got every single person with an automatic rifle or MG having a decent chance at hitting it at close range.

The real question, though, is what does it so that arty, pgms or mortars don't do for much cheaper without having the drawback of being able to be shot down by fucking infantry?

In that case its pretty similar to any device with moving parts, such a stupid thing to say.

Everybody is coming up with these overly complicated solutions for this shit. Backpack mouted Phalanx turrets, micro stinger missiles, ECM guns? C'mon guys.

See the common 40mm grenade launcher. Lighter weight, proximity fused, high velocity and high fragmentation shell made to arm after 10 yards or so. Boom. The technology exists and has been widely used, the platform is widely deployed, and it wont even take much training to accomodate soldiers with the munitions.

Like come on, we don't need a quadrillion dollar solution to this. I swear some of you work for the Pentagon with your obscenely expensive solutions for problems that do not require such complexities.
