>Quebec LGR petition has wrapped up with a reported 58k signatures (42k digital). Public hearings on the bill ended April 19.

>Troy Par pump action AR-15 style rifle classified NR
5.56 is the only model with a classification but other calibers may follow .300blk, 308win, .243win, .338fed, 7mm-08rem
5.56 with 16" barrel standard (US models have a welded on muzzle brake)
Not compatible with other Uppers/Lowers
No buffer tube / Unique BCG
Not slamfireable
Looks like trigger is AR-15 compatible
Takes AR-15 barrels (May require the gas port to be welded)
Price is around 950USD

Good news for me, found a store in Quebec who has a dealer account with Windham and is going to import and sell me a 20" A2 barrel.

I have been waiting a very long time for my renewed RPAL to come back to me. It is going on six months now, I have called the main CFO in regards to it, they tell me it is with the province now. Why would the province hold onto it for such a long time?

It is imperative that I get my RPAL so I can sell one of my firearms to help pay for rent. If I can not, I will not be able to pay rent at the end of the month and will face eviction. I have no place to go with my firearms and thus, afraid I may be targeted by the RCMP for Firearm crimes.

What are my options?
>>
Hey where do my Canadianbros buy knives?

US sites can have some pretty stringent shipping costs desu.
>>
>>29896089
Have you called your provincial CFO?
>>
>>29896211
Warriorsandwonders is decent.
>>
>>29896211
Also, according to a previous Canada thread OP, regular folding knives are now considered prohibited switchblades. Bad idea to import them regardless.
>>
How many guns do you think the RCMP seized in Fort McMurray?

How many of those were "lost in the fire"?
>>
>>29896089
Stories like yours are the reason why I plan on renewing my RPAL super early. Like, 2 years early. I realize that I would be renewing my RPAL every 3 years instead of 5 if I do this, but it would serve as a friendly "fuck you" to the lazy-ass system.
>>

>Also, according to a previous Canada thread OP, regular folding knives are now considered prohibited switchblades

WHAT

That's fucking impossible

holy fuck this country is a piece of god damn shit, fuck
>>
>>29896315
Out of curiosity what is the legality of grabbing your guns when you get the hell out of dodge?
RCMP can't seize my guns if they ain't in my house
>>
>>29896319
That reminds me, my RPAL expires in 2018, better look into getting it renewed now.
>>
>>29896315
I highly doubt it would happen again.

When the RCMP did this shit during the High River floods, there was a massive outrage from the community. It put a major ding on their reputation.

Also, the Forces were actually giving the RCMP rides when they were doing this. When they caught onto what they were doing, the Canadian Forces damn near went to literal war against the RCMP.

Imagine that shit. A civil war between our forces and our cops.

I don't think the RCMP seized anything this time around. They have fire to deal with this time, not a little bit of water. And I'm pretty sure they don't want to fight against the fucking army.
>>
>>29896284
That's just the CBSA acting stupid about imports. Folders are fine for now- the law is pretty clear on them.
>>
>>29896336
>Apparently since 2015 CBSA has considered any folding knife that has a thumb hole or stud, and any knife that has a spring assist to be automatic.
>CBSA confiscated a few models of legal knives. The importer took legal recourse and the Canadian International Trade Tribunal found that the knives for all intents and purposes were prohibited as "automatic" or "gravity" knives. This is not legal precedent for owners but it will make many of folding knife models hard to come by and possible importation charges.

To add a little bit of salt, the optic I'm looking at is hyper rare-one of those proper Type 97 optics. One of these.
>>
>>29896647
I've heard of people waiting just as long for theirs but how could I get fucked over by the RCMP? I do fear this but don't understand how. My RPAL is paid for and renewed, obviously being in possession of one prior to this, I proved I am capable of having a RPAL. If it is in the province hands, shouldn't it be approved of for renewal already?
>>
>>29896875

>>
>>29897269
I would probably get the optic. AR15s are around a fair bit and the one you're looking at might not sell, but a rare optic could disappear forever.
>>
>>29897289
Fair point, Anon. I've led this guy on too long, and he's been patient with me. Besides, I'm not entirely sold on the A2/retro look for my first AR anyway.
>>

I'd get the optic. You'll likely never get the chance to snag one again-I've heard of maybe 3 go up for sale. So if it's the real deal, you'd be a fool to not get it.
And if you're lucky, maybe your LGS won't sell the AR.

Because it is a handgun with a stock screwed on. Which makes it considered a handgun variant. Handguns no matter the OAL or barrel length are always considered handguns and thus restricted.

However if Rossi made a model where the frame of the revolver was extended to the full length of the stock in a permanent fashion it could be classified as a rifle. (Ex. pic related which is a NR rifle modeled after the buckmark pistol)

In addition to the registry itself and all the stupidity involved, another part really worries me, from a milsurp perspective:

>5. The Minister assigns a unique firearm number to each firearm not previously registered and a registration number for each firearm the Minister registers.

>6. Within 90 days after a firearm has been assigned a unique firearm number, the owner must, if the number is not already inscribed indelibly and legibly on the firearm, affix it to the firearm in the manner prescribed by government
regulation.

My worry is that P&S Militaria are based out of Quebec and have some really nice milsurp as well as other historical firearms. I'd hate to see those fine arms defaced.
>>
>>29906492
Yes. They're probably gonna grab your funs.
>>
>>29906514
Could you get away with inscribing the number on a place not visible while the gun is assembled? Like the inside of the receiver or something?
>>
>>29906549

Perfect, yet again the rcmp are the worst looters. Good bye 200 dollars of ammunition. At least it sounds like they will be giving the rifles back...

Sounds like i will be back up north of the city next week, maybe i will try and sneak into town one night and see for myself.
>>
Gonna meet a dude to privately buy a nonrestricted for the first time this weekend. The dude already sent me photos of the rifle, what's the procedure for this sort of thing? I've always bought my guns from shops.
>>
>>29906815
Check his license, he checks your, you examine the rifle, you pay him if you still want it, you shake hands and part ways.
>>
>>29906843
In my case, it goes something like this:

Email back and forth for weeks, arrange to meet at his place, shake hands, get your hand nearly swallowed whole by a huge dog, examine the gun, talk about it for a few minutes, thank him for his time, shake hands again, and part ways.

C-230, as well. Applied, we could have our AK variants again. But nobody wants to touch it. Motherfuckers.
>>
>>29908027
I've heard that bill is a double-edged sword.

As in, it will de-prohibit a lot of "variants," but it will also prohibit certain other "variants" that are already (non-)restricted.

If I'm wrong, then that's more than okay with me.
>>
>>29907998
I say we give 'em what they want and just let them separate.

They're costing us too much in tax dollars anyway.
>>
>>29908083

A total separation would be funny. Meaning, they're completely independent and won't receive a single cent from Canada again or assistance.
>>
>>29908083
Qwebecker tears on such matters are delicious.
>>29908073
Yes, kind of. In essence, as I understand it, if it's not made on an "original, unmodified receiver", then it's not a "Variant" of a Prohibited firearm, and belongs in NR/R. So Type 56/Chink AKs, which are slightly different, would no longer be Prohibs. Things like Lugers with the oversized barrels would not.

it doesn't work like that

the bill defines variant, that's it. so in cases where a named firearm and all variants are prohib or restricted, any gun that shares a frame with that gun will be in the same classification. if a specific firearm is prohib by name but the prohibition does not mention variants, then variants are not banned.

there are no provisions for the status of variants of prohibited by feature firearms, so 9mm versions of .32 caliber pistols are not banned, long barrel versions of short barreled rifles are not restricted, etc.

in short, it does exactly what the conservative pro-gun MP says it does

Non-restricted or restricted? Non-restricted just toss them in the trunk of your car unloaded and do whatever. Restricted.....I'd make my first stop a licensed gunshop where they can be "repaired" until things settle down and you can return home. There were actually a few gunstores offering this for free to people displaced by the wildfire.
>>
>>29896380
Most RCMP detachments are fine but there are still a sizeable number of officers and management who believe they are literally above the law and do not need such pesky things as warrants, due process, etc. Look at the Marstar's raid years ago. I 100% expect that at least one of the serial killers responsible for all those missing Native women is an RCMP officer.

It would be non-restricted but someone decided it was meant to be shot single handed, despite the forestock. A handgun is "designed to be shot single-handed" which is a pretty nebulous standard since handguns are generally not shot single-handed. I swear to God, if Rossi had inscribed "Use 2 hands!" somewhere on the receiver it would be non-restricted.

That might depend on the composition of the device. Certain compounds need special authorization.

If you're launching the rockets out of a tube then make sure the rockets are greater than 15mm in diameter so that you don't violate the firearms act. Everything else is just not violating the explosives regulations and not causing anyone any problems.
