Belt pouches are way easier than molle pouches to come off an in right?

Belt pouches on the tyr, molle on the pad. Then again, you could do that with any gun belt.

It's something I might do if my tyr belt can't handle the weight when I put a pistol on it.

Won't need a fixed blade, won't need an IFAK, will need a radio pouch. Might get a benchmade folder or just use the multitool. Medical supplies will be on my person and in an aid bag.

I'll change out the contents of my admin pouch, might even completely eliminate it.

Not really. Blade weight difference is negligible, instead of just an IFAK I'll now have medical supplies on my person and an aid bag, if the admin pouch is eliminated it'll be because the contents need to be on my person. I'll also need to carry an xbox huge duty belt soon.

I really like ACU pants, they are roomy, sturdy, and have a million pockets. But I am not in love with the camoflauge pattern that is a result of them being military uniforms.

Does anyone have recommendations of at least companies that make good ACU like pants that won't make me look like I am planning on bombing a federal building when I stop off for gas before going into the mountains?

For maximum variety and quality your best bet is going to be to go with BDU pants as it's the much more popular design.

This is the only place I know of that has ACU pants not in camo and the color options are black, navy, and green. http://www.acu.com/p/1/acu-pants/#.VzEubb7SlWW

Need some help gear queers,

I'm looking for an OWB holster for my G19 with X300. I'm a lefty. I'd be interested in something like a SERPA Level II that could hold a light.
I've looked into Safariland, but can't find any current models that I really like, due to their retention style.
It'll be on a 1.75" belt if that helps.

Any suggestions?

Warning to those with D3CR-H's that were thinking of buying the MP2 pouch inserts to get a little extra utility out of it by allowing you to also use 556 mags; they "aren't intended to be used that way" despite it literally saying that in their product description and video.

http://www.haleystrategic.com/mp2-magazine-insert

Bought these pieces of shit and 556 mags rattle around and dump out like crazy. I wrote in to see what was up and was told they never intended them to be used interchangeably. If you want to use 556 mags and 308 mags, you have to buy an entirely new set for the other magazine. (fwiw, I inserted 556 mags right after I got them and they didn't hold them for shit then either)

Oy vey, call me a faggot for buying HSP gear, idgaf, but if I can save one /k/tard some sheckels I'll have done my job.

I've had 3 outings with the tyr belt now, and its done what I want to do. But that's not enough anymore. I want to try and clear my sides of my plate carrier of shit. I want the Ifak on my belt, and I want to get a pistol in a private sale. The tyr is also a medium, and I'm not a 34 waist anymore, I'm a 36. So, my tyr belt is up for sale, $100+shipping. I can take as many pics as you want me to take to see it's all good. Im also selling the coyote tacos for $22 each. The only reason they're so low is that the "not malice" clips rip offs they came with are pretty rough.

The issue for me is on the left side. Because I'm a 36, and 34 is really the recommended max size for the medium, I had to let the belt out all the way to basically the buckle, and that part is not stiff at all, and its exactly where a pistol would go. Someone who it'd fit properly would have that section go from 12 back to about 10:30, right about the anterior illiac spine (that little ball thing on the front left and right of your pelvis). So log as you mount your pistol at 9 o clock, it will have the stiffness and support it needs.

Tell me oh great sages of the gear thread, should I go with a Chinese Type 59 chest rig or a Type 81 (59 is the three cell/4 pouch, 81 is the 4 cell/2 pouch).

I know Soviets in Afghanistan would often use captured Type 59's and stretch them to fit 6 instead of 3 mags, but I'm not sure whether the same trick would work with a four cell, or if it would work at all with slightly larger VZ-58 magazines.
>>
>>29898853
Wear what you want. I'm not a fan of stretching pouches to fix more than intended. I've seen soldiers fit 6 USGI mags in issued 3-mag panels, but then have trouble in the worst moments trying to pull them out, or yanking one out and sending the other mag flying.

I put Pmags in my personal Chimcom chest rig, and while it is possible with a lot of effort, it's just too tight for my liking (phrasing). I'd say with the big Vz mags, go single stack. Decide if you want 3 or 4 mags yourself.

Advanced Airborne School Cadre are referred to as "Blackhats" because of the black baseball cap they wear as part of their uniform, similar to a Drill Sergeant's campaign hat.

Mine had a stroke because of the pad placement.

US Army Airborne standard is placing an oval pad vertically over each rivet on the chinstrap covering any metal parts. The square pads are placed at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions of the helmet to cover up the NVG shroud.

To me, who's used to seeing only that setup, it's weird to see other setups. Kinda like seeing a helmet without an NVG shroud.
>>
So is mil-tec's shit any good? The low price of their chest rigs is appealing, but makes me think it's some sort of airsoft-tier shit.
>>
>>29903475

Oh right on, I googled "blackhat" and was thinking you were going to steal my identity or something, haha.

I didn't place the pads, and I don't know that the guy selling it said his branch of service (if any). I wasn't paying attention to him at my LGS until he said "heck I'd sell this thing for $50" and I threw my wallet at him.

I thought about getting a shroud for it, but I don't have NVG's and thought that would be a little queer.

I wear mine out innadesert with friends and other random people. It's not as weird as you'd think.
>>
I experimented again. It's really the pad that makes me string out my belt so far. I'm just going to buy the vlecro inner belt and do the system like that. It brings the stiff part to my 9 o clock.

I also began cutting this week. If I can lose an inch or two, the belt would fit even better. New pictures when I'm done fitting the belt with new pouches

oh anon, it is much more weirder than you think
>>
>>29905600
To be fair I usually go with at least one other person in gear. If I was by myself I'd probably less inclined to wear it, but then again what's the point in owning it if I'm not gonna at least go out and shoot in it? I don't need it for a job, and I wasn't in the military due to medical issues, so going out innadesert is the closest to actual operating I'll ever get.
>>
>>29905600
"That Guy" is the guy who wears his gear for the looks he gets. If you want to wear your gear to the range and practice different firing positions, reloads, or if your rifle can even be properly fired with it on, more power to you.

Shit, if more people did that, we wouldn't have gotten the IOTV.

medium or large plates will fit any man of normal height (I think at least 5'6")
if you're talking about the carrier itself, 6094s have good shoulder and cummerbund adjustments. they'll probably fit anybody but the most dedicated cheeto enthusiast.
>>
>>29906080
Apology accepted.
>>
>>29904558
the overruns are 6094A. LBT says As fits medium, but in reality all As can fit large plates its just they can't guarantee you can put soft armor behind it. so they say it fits medium.

if you want to be as low profile as possiable then use the kangaroo pouch. you can always add a chest rig or a 10 speed pouch to the outside later for more kit.

that's what i have on my banshee.

buy a used sig then.
the USP lacks a pic rail, expensive proprietary mags, blocky as fuck construction and the p30 series that follow it are way bettter than it if you want to keep within HK.
>>
>>29907010
I can still mount a light if I wanted to which I wouldn't.
The sig p229 I shot a few mags through at the last meet up I hosted wasn't pleasant. There was just a lot I didn't like.
I did enjoy shooting a p30, but I've seen it consistently said that USP trigger > p30 trigger any day of the week.

I can conceal a glock 19, I think looking at the size I can conceal a uspc, but p30's even bigger.
Plus, used p30s are still $900
>>

Meh. The Glock 19 is really the sweet spot for a lot of dudes in terms of the largest possible concealed carry pistol. I wish so badly that HK would just make a p30 that is literally Glock 19 sized, but they only seem to care about subcompacts and fullsizes
