It was my grandfather's, he bought it back when they were $10 a rifle. He cut down the handguard and drilled it for a scope mount. Yes it's ruined but I don't really care for its monetary value as he passed away two years ago and wanted me to have it. The Charger Guide was cut off so a scope could be mounted. I could get the drill holes filled and new handguard if I wanted. I probably won't though. Personally I like it the way it is.

I have about only 100 rounds of 8x56r I'm saving for special occasions. I've shot an M95 in 8x56r once.

Only remington still makes it, it's like 1.50-2.00$ per round, and very few places carry it.

Riddle me this milsurp. I'd I take my 10/22, strip the wallpaper off the stock and BLO it as well as adding provisions for a heat shield and bayonet lug, will future collectors call me bubba? Um nor sure how many of you also collect old fudd guns.

Just got a Mosin, it's the second gun I bought. Near as I can tell it's a 1933 Izzy rearsenaled in 1946. It has a hex receiver and is still largely cosmoline.

They were conversion of the No1Mk1 and Lee-Metford Mk1 to the No1MkIII pattern.
