I like the full-length handguard look desu.

Considering building a 9mm SBR using PSA parts (10.5in upper) and a Fostech ECHO trigger to basically make a ghetto smg. Is the extra maneuverability I would get from shaving 6in off the length of the thing be worth the $200 tax stamp? Or should I just live with a 16in upper and spend that extra $200 on ammo.

I typically retoast until I actually have something new. I see no real reason to go take new pictures just because. Besides, aside from Giddy getting his can back, me building my new rifle is the most interesting thing that's happened in here for a few days I think.

I may be slightly biased on that.

It's pretty silly tbqh pham. Unless you have a 24" bull barrel varmint righ with a dedicated free float tube, there's no reason to go stainless. It's heavier and wears faster than carbon steel.

It's not any more accurate on cheap rifles either, PSA sells them because stainless is soft and cheaper/faster to profile and cut. That's why they're cheap.

Go CHF and lined/treated (chrome or nitride).

I saw the video, they used a total of 5 rounds of factory ammo to test. That's no where near enough to get a good data point.

You need to get a bolt action with VERY consistent hand loads to eliminate all other variables and shoot it at least 50 or 100 times with and without a can to draw any meaningful data--and every time that's been done, it has shown a slight boost in velocity form the can acting as a barrel extension.

Acog isn't a bad choice. I went with a NF 2.5-10x32, an mrds in a JP 45° mount. When I get a second one I'll put a ta11c on it I think. If the mk20 comes out, that gets an SB 3-20
