Well, my best group today was around 2.3 MOA. I really didn't get in as much time as I would have liked because it started raining. I got it sighted in at least somewhat but didn't get enough time to really bring it in. I also realized that the scope mount was a little loose when I got home because I forgot to loctite the screws.

All-in-all, I'm really happy with the Strike Eagle but I really need to practice more and get better to make good use of it. Today really reminded me how out of practice I am.

Also, today taught me the value of a good trigger. Using my mil-spec trigger after trying my friend's super crazy match .22lr Anschütz rifle was hell. His two-stage trigger was the lightest I've ever felt. Something like 2oz and then 4oz. I really want a nicer trigger in my AR now.

For the year aesthetic you are going for? An Aimpoint COMP M2. Preferably in a Wilcox mount, but a cantilever mount would be pretty period accurate as well.

For functionality? Depends what you want. I'm a huge fan of Primary Arms because it's cheap and works well.

If you have more money than me, you might be more of an Aimpoint or Trijicon person.
