I want to go for concealed defensive pistol. I definitely want to go for a Glock but I don't know which fits best for concealed carry. Is the G19 too big for carrying it on a daily basis? My hands are rather large (I am 1.90m tall) so would a G26 slip around my hand when I am in a stressful situation (e.g. defending my life)?
>>
it depends on your clothing
with the right clothes mindset and body type a 17 can vanish

>>
>>29821693
Get both, thats what I did. But in seriousness, the 19 isn't too big at all to daily carry. I have large hands and the 26 isn't an issue for me. In fact I'm rather partial to shooting my 26 over 19. Then again maybe because I know I keep the 26 on me and the chances of using it are greater.
>>
>>29821693
I carry a G23, so same frame as G19. I carry at 4:00 inside the waistband. I find it comfortable to sit in regular chairs, car, couches. Sometimes I print more than I would like, but no one has ever said anything. I lean over a lot because I have a 2 year old (picking him up, removing foreign objects from facial orifices). No real complaints. I like the idea of having a higher capacity when it comes to protecting my kids. Fuck printing. If they don't like it, they can tell me, and I'll tell them to kindly fuck off.
>>
>>29821754
What about a summer T-shirt?

>>29821784
So, do you carry a G26 on a daily basis? If yes, why?
>>
>>29821833
While I'm in school I work mostly late nights/weekend late nights at a porn store where sketchy ass people come in and we deal a lot in cash. Managers cool and actually encourages it. IDK but for some odd reason I really really like the 26, despite being small for my hands.
>>
>>29821817
Thank you very much for your experience report.

>If they don't like it, they can tell me, and I'll tell them to kindly fuck off.
Problem is that if people get suspicious I get legal issues in my country. People will call the police and I have to pay the fucking operation, even when it's not illegal to carry the gun.

i was thinking i would pick up a glock 43 this weekend.

Any anoms have experience with this gun?
Normally i would try it at a range, but no one has it where i live.
>>
>>29821870
fondle the new pps too it's pretty kool
>>
>>29821693
G26 if you are gonna conceal it. Big hands is no excuse. Practice with it. I am 6'6 and have the hands to match and I pocket carry an LCP that I have little trouble shooting without the extended mag floor plate. That said, I use the extended mag floor plate cause it does help a bit.

The grip area of the g26 and g19 is basically the same configured as pictured in the op.

As others have mentioned though, any handgun can be concealed with the right cloths. I have CCd fill sized guns like my 92FS and G21 before.

Love the lcp though, that thing disappears in the pocket of board shorts with no shirt on.
>>
I carry at 4 o'clock as well with a G19. With the right holster its no problem to conceal. I can wear a regular t-shirt and conceal it, but bending and reaching and stuff is almost impossible without revealing my gun.

Overall I like it. I like the size of the G19, it's the perfect size for me 5'11" ~165lbs

The 26 is the only glock you can make bigger.
Glock 19 can't be made smaller.

Get some sandpaper grips on a 26.
If you feel that bad. Get a x grip with a 19 mag for edc. Have a 17 round mag for back up. 33rd for
shtf.

>>29821870>
I only feel safe with more rounds. Carrying 6+1 is a super compromise.26 is only slightly.
>>
>>29822230
well i cant carry more than 10 rounds anyways, so why not glawk? My father has a shield that i have a lot of experience with, and like, but the grip prints a bit more than i would like on my slender petite fukboi frame
>>
>>29821693
I'm 5' 5" manlet, weigh 140 lbs and I'm pretty average build.

I can make a g19 disappear under a normal fit t-shirt.
>>
>>29821863
Wtf, where so you live senpai?
>>
Europoor here, can someone enlighten me on the whole concealed vs open carry thing? Why is concealed less strict than open?

I'd still pick the glock 26, and carry appendix. WAY more easy to conceal.

At least you can CCW. But still kinda sucks for 10 round mag cap.

A pistol is already a compromise. Glock 19 is the gold standard. I do have a back up cm9 (6+1).

It depends on your lifestyle. Most self defense situations are 2-3 shots MAX, if you even have to shoot them. But you should prepare for the worse, hope for the best.
>>
>>29822050
I'm not the OP, but I'm just about the same size so that's good to know.

>>29822626
Good to know as well.

I'm going to be going to range soon to try out a G19, Springfield XDDDDDDDDDD-S and a S&W Shield compact.

Tbh I'm a little hesitant to get the glock even though it looks like a great gun. Is not having a manual safety that big of a deal for carrying? It'll be my first gun and I'd rather not shoot my dick off and have to post about it on /k/ in a few months.

>>29822785
Concealed, if you're doing it right means nobody knows about it. Open means anybody can see it, and lots of people get nervous around weapons.

Shield is cheaper.

Its is better to have gun on you. Better then a sharp stick.

Depending on your life style. Get a single stack. Alteast you will carry it.
Carry at extra mag.
>>
>>29821693
there are fewer options for mounting a light or laser to the G26 since it lacks a rail. something to consider.

If your serious about training + finger discipline. And have a hoslter with a good trigger guard (leather is a no no).
It is 110% fine.

There was a story on a gun fourm. About some dude who got into a gun fight using a 1911. He had trouble after getting shot operating the safety.
>>
>>29823028
Follow the four safety rules religiously and you'll be just fine. I'm not a fan of manual safeties on handguns except for 1911s.

I carry my 19 every day, but I'm 6'5" and ~240 so I've got a pretty big frame to hide it on. I carry 3 o'clock IWB, mostly.
>>
>>29823046
>>29823053

Cool, thanks.

No matter what handgun I get, I'm planning on going to the range with it a ton both because I want to get used to it, and once I take my FE I'll have nothing else to do anyway.

Are there any /k/ recommended holsters for concealed carrying a G19?
>>
What is a Glock 29. Git Gud.

Neither g30s is where the meat's at.

>>29821776

So much freedom in one post must be true

I really really dig the concept of a mid sized Glawk with a grip shortened to subcompact lengths. Because, lets face it, the barrel isnt the reason, a gun conceals bad.
>>
I'm planning on buying another 19 frame and cutting down the grip to fit 26 mags. Something like a G26 long slide version.

Honestly, I can't complain about my gen 1 ayy lmao gear holster. For the price, it does its job well. However, I am currently looking for an upgrade, and I'm leaning towards a galco holster.
>>
>>29823953
I have looked online. I'm not just going to wing it.
>>
>>29823973
Great. Then dont forget to take pics of the work process and post them here.

I'm interested in doing it myself - but I'd rather let some anon fuck up his glock before I try it, call me asshole.
>>
>>29821870
It's really really good, however it's beat by the shield in every category except weight* and 'softness'

>size
Essentially identical. Hillbilly youtubers dont realize you cant take objective measurements holding two guns up to a $12 webcam
>capacity
Shield carries an extra round off the bat for the same size you have to carry
>accuracy
43, shield, etc all more accurate than you need it to be or could ever take advantage of
>reliability
shield just as stronk
>price
you can rice out a shield for the base price of a 43, not that you really need to change either. Except maybe the trigger shoe of the shield, the split design is dogshit

A shield "measures" like an ounce heavier than a glock, but also has an extra round. You're not going to notice an ounce but you and your attacker will notice an extra round.

The 43 does shoot soft as fug tho mayne like omg ridic. However, the 42 shoots even SOFTER, and the right .380 is pretty much equivalent to 9mm.

tl;dr
>just need a good conceal piece
shield
>want muh glock name brand and have bb gun softness
42
>>
>>29821693
If you are 190cm and reasonably fit you should be able to conceal a 19.

The best carry gun is whatever gun you can carry literally EVERY SINGLE DAY.

If you can't carry a mid size pistol like a G19 with you every day, then it's worthless. As much of a meme as it is, I carry a Kahr p380 because I can just put the motherfucker in my pocket.

If you think you can strap a G19 to you under all (legal) circumstances, then by all means go ahead.
>>
>>29822044

do you use the 7 round mag for your LCP? i find mine to be easy to shoot with the extended mag and talon grips.

pic related.
>>
>>29822661
Austria. The weapon laws here are - like everywhere in Europe - very strict.
>>
>>29823935
>lets face it, the barrel isnt the reason, a gun conceals bad

Thats why I like the XDS 4.0 but the G29/30 makes me sad. Cheated of .2" of barrel length and EVERYONE used the pinky extension on the G29/30 anyway. Plus it's still fat. Just give me a legit 19/23 sized gun already
>>
>>29821693
>>29821870
IMHO, I don't see the point in the 26 when the 43 is out. I never cared for the 26 at all, It treis to be a pocket gun but its too fat, you might as well suck it up and get the 19 and have a few extra rounds with a little added size. If the 26 works for you then fine, but I never found it to be all that popular anyway
>>
>>29822785
despite the stereotypes, guns aren't welcome in every area of the US, we just have the 2nd amendment to protect us, still if people see guns they get nervous, so the idea is out of sight out of mind. I once had a friend be mistaken for an off duty cop because he was open carrying and has never done it since
>>
>>29821693
the g26 fits my large hands better than the 19 and I like it better over all for ccw. My other glock is a 17 so saw no real reason, for me, to get a 19 instead of the 26. I shoot just as well with the 26 as I do the 17. I carry appendix.

It's up to you, really.
