For XM193? 250 yards is pushing it out of a 20" barrel. Out of a 14.5" fragmentation past 150 yards would be optimistic at best.

If you want to kill shit at moderate ranges with a 5.56 sbr your best bet is one of the Mk262 clones on the market, those bullets were designed for superior terminal ballistics at lower velocities.

Or just get it in .300 BLK, if money is no object.

If you just want the gun to be a suppressor host then go 16" and don't bother with SBR'ing a 14.5". Once you put a can on that bitch it's going to be long as fuck either way so you probably won't notice an inch and a half.

2700fps is usually considered the bottom floor for fragmentation of M193.

My 10.3" with M193 gets ~2750 @10ft from the muzzle so figure frag threshold is something like 15 yards, but I bet you still wouldn't want to be shot with it at 200 yards.
