5.11 makes a great stiff belt with a metal buckle. Works fantastic, doesn't bend. Cheap, 35 bucks at a cop store. Two sizes, I recommend the thinner one, think it's the 'operator' belt. Other is 'instructor'.

Makes me wonder if there's a way to make a regular web belt stiffer by coating it with some sort of flexible glue.
>>

Would glueing another layer of material not make it thicker and stiffer?
>>
>>29803470
>Also, given the tactical hat, gloves, and boots threads prior just this weekend, it appears we are being rused
Those threads were all created by me indeed, but they have zero to do with troll. I will be buying new gear. Only the "tactical" hat was meant to be funny. The using of the word "tactical" is to have people replying, otherwise the threads will have like 5 answers.

>>
>>29803518
I'm sure it would, but the glue might be enough on its own. I got some kind of paint on my shoelaces once, and they hardened up a bit but remained semi-flexible. When it dried it wasn't sticky, either. That's why I wonder if it wouldn't work.

I feel like you could of either asked that all in one thread, or asked in gear queer. Sometimes "tactical" equipment isnt the highest quality or best value gear. Packs for example. I'd rather take a civilian hiking pack over my ruck
It's cheaper, more comfortable, and more subtle.

I mean, I guess. But if you're using the belt as load bearing gear, which is big part of these tacitcal belts, are you just dropping all your shit so you can use the belt as a tq? Are you going to sit there while bleeding out removing pouches? Or are you going to already have multiple tourniquets on your kit

>inb4 you won't have your IFAK with you
Then I won't be wearing my kit, I won't need a load bearing belt, and I won't need a tactical belt, and the whole thing is moot

This is a life or death situation ID run around in full PPE with my cock and ass out to patch my boy.

Yes we got issued tourniquets but what if 2 ppl get shot?

Also I could 550 cord a belt, but 550 is to narrow for a tourniquet.

We usually kept our CAT tourniquet attached to flaks not ifaiks. So they could be ripped off in seconds. Time if of the essence in this situations.

Everyone carries 4 tqs. When they get shot use their tqs. Everyone has enough now.

I keep a first aid kit in my car for those for sudden instances, but I'm not building my casual wardrobe around such a huge what if
>>
>>29804636
You're just backpedaling. You can carry whatever you want. I was just telling you what we were issued in the military and I was Infantry , it was 1.

Also in these situations your supposed to use the Ifak or tourniquet of man that went down, so yours are on you later if you go down.

And the correct answer is related because if he's not wearing a sperg belt 3000 you can take off his belt if you're worried about losing yours. My pants actually fit me without the belt.

I think I've justified my response. Go get your fag belt I don't care.
>>
>>29804734
I already have a fag belt.

>we were only issued one
Then your unit is dogshit.
If everyone has 4 tqs in their ifaks, and like I said, if we use the patients Ifak, then we'll never run out of tqs in any situation. Even at my low speed Bradley unit, we carry more than 1 damn tourniquet.

And I'm worried about losing my belt if I have shit mounted to it, which a lot of people do. Even if im wearing an iotv or iba, and cant wear a battle belt, I'm tucking my blouse in and mounting a dump pouch on my pants belt.

An improvised tourniquet is inferior to a CAT or SOFT-W. It's more likely to break and less effective.

4 is considered overkill In Infantry you hump it 90% of the time. Ounces = Pounds, Pounds = Pain. Why not 8, 10 etc.

But wait aren't there 4 men in a tank crew? That could be possible reason for difference in SOPs.

My battle belt is pretty much exactly like in the picture. The plastic buckle has held up to occasional use over the past 5 years.

I hardly load it up all the way for outdoor use but usually it has a beretta, canteen, pistol mag pouch, Kbar and IFAK on it. When I'm carrying my AR innawoods I'll put between 4 and 8 magazines on it.

I've also got a drop leg panel that I never use. I've got a few pouches I could put on it if I felt like it.

2 questions though. What would be a good non-reflective belt clip to replace the plastic one?

With AR mags I have to strap it on very very tight to keep it from falling off. Not much of a problem with lighter loads. So what would be a good belt suspender or chest rig that I can use with it to support the belt?

Inb4 get a PC. PC is on the list. I just like the belt for hiking trips. I'm not 100% but I'm pretty sure my frame pack won't fit with a plate carrier and plates on. Plus animals don't carry guns.
>>
>>29805384
>wearing a retarded looking seatbelt buckle

It seems like those sharp tabs would poke you, and if you bend over they could undo the buckle.

There's better ways to support a lot of weight, if you're going to go with tabs you should have a 3 finger system to undo it like they use on police duty belts now (because what I described actually happens)

I see a lot of hate in this thread, and while I personally don't understand the appeal of wearing one of these belts every day, I got a question. I'm about to get into IPSC, and need a solid gun belt. I don't want to go full pro with my gears since I don't know if I'll pursue the sport long enough to excuse the expense (time constraints mostly). My question is, what is a good, stiff, gun belt I could use for this purpose?

youre in the great outdoors of alaska, and you are uncomfortably carrying inside the waistband like a cuck. why? everyone i know in alaska just rocks a comfortable pancake or kydex OWB

Yeah dude that's the attraction. Those sharp tabs are actually very small knife points to use for cutting in an emergency.

That's what makes them tacticool idiot :DDD

I never am really scared but bears and wolves freak me out once in a while. But one lame thing that does is when a heavy branch breaks above you, especially if it's snow loaded.

I have a backpack and I'm not sure what a serious hike is but I do it at least 5 times a week.

You sure cause that looks alot like this place I know outside of girdwood.
Also I didn't think the alaska railroad goes to juneau. Not on any maps I've seen.

>>29810178
I'd say that looks alot more like the Kenai peninsula than the south east.

If your from anchorage it's okay i forgive you. Im not trying to shit on you but I've been around.

I only ask about the pack because I IWB a fullsize for CC and that gets uncomfortable. I couldn't imagine walking more than a mile in the woods with one comfortably. 6+ hour hike, maybe a couple days. Just seems like a tiny bit of mobility for alot of pinching. Plus a decent pack will hinder you as well. 5 times a week sounds like backyarding it.

Not that backyarding is bad or anything.

If you have one, find your local leather store. Mine will do custom work for not too bad a price. Ask them to make you a reinforced leather belt. Other than that, just go find the thickest leather belt you can at the store. As long as you can't bend it in half with no force it'll be good enough unless you CC a Deagle brand Deagle or something equally retarded.

I'll never understand why people don't understand this, but if someone on jewtube spends half of their time fencing criticism and replying to "haters", you should see a gigantic red flag. People are always trying to defend idiots like Buck Yeager and aregularguy, but never realize there's something wrong with how they present themselves and air out the insecurities they feel.

On to John Willis. First, I have no experience with his gear though I'm guessing it's high quality.

Why is he a total faggot? Because he cares immensely about people shit talking him on retarded sites like arfcom. He acts like a hostile child and makes hater reply videos. He also makes endless videos talking about how customers are total retards who don't get anything. And...you know what, on some level he's probably right. However, he works in the fucking textile retail industry. Any single one of us who has held a job where you have to deal with idiot customers knows anger. Do you bitch and moan about it on youtube? No. No you just deal with it because you work in retail. The same industry that sells purses made to fit little dogs.

I don't give his company money because he's a total whiny faggot. If you don't care and want to buy from SOE, go for it. I'm sure he makes a good product. But people, stop asking why everyone hates this guy or that guy when it's so goddamn obvious.

I think if you took a short moment to read and attempt to comprehend my post, you'll see that I have no problem "dealing with it". In fact, I said I don't give a shit if people buy their shit.

Think for a moment. The person who is having trouble "dealing with it" is John Willis...oh, and you.
