Convoy ambush. I had men with copious amounts of molotovs and grenades, and they made short work of the open top vehicles like Marders, half-tracks, and trucks. The ones attacked first were dead in the middle of the road and created a makeshift roadblock, blocking off the road completely. It was a slaughter.

Finally got around to starting the Phantom pain earlier tonight. Also been back and forth between metro, far cry 2 (cuz they'll run on my windows 10 tablet and I can play at work) and metro 2033.

Steel Armor: Blaze of War is one. Made by the same guys who made Graviteam Tactics, do it does tanks pretty damn well. However, there is only the T62 and M60.

Operation Star if you want to play around with some Cold War era stuff like Afghanistan, Operation Hooper in Africa, and the Soviet-Chinese border skirmish in 1969. Then the base game has plenty of ww2 stuff. However, Mius Front only has WW 2 content, but it's much more polished, and the UI is much easier to use, and there's actual tutorials. However, in both games the learning curve is really REALLY steep, so don't be disappointed if you're having alot of trouble getting the hang of things. Also, Mius Front is brand new, it just came out in March, so it is going to get DLCs and possibly multiplayer in the future. I'd buy Mius Front to get use to the game and controls and such, then if you like it, then buy Operation Star when it goes on sale. Buy it with all DLCs by the way, it'll cost ~20 dollars.

I doubt the IS-3 would have been put into service. The t-44 existed but was held out of combat, and the IS-3 had problems to be fixed for a while.
