So I bought a long French Bayonet from an Army Surplus/Civil War store for $65. It has a square right on the sheath to clip to your belt, and intact and functioning release button, little to no wear including scratches, rust, and corrosion, some weird hook that I would like to know more about, and MATCHING SERIAL NUMBERS. My leg is next to it for scale, and I'm about 5 feet tall. I will provide measurements later, because I'm not at home.
What I want to know is what model it was used on, when it was used/made, and how much it is worth. If you could help in any way I would appreciate it a ton.
This is also a general antique weapons thread.

My great-grandpa's Berdana bayo. Battlefield capture along with a rifle in WW1. Apparently the cops took the rifle back then because shenanigans.

I think it was marked wrong. Most of the other stuff was $150-$500.

That is a French chassepot bayonet, $65 is a fair price since they were made in their millions.

This guy knows it! A mate of mine has one as well as the rifle. I'm trying to make hum a firing pin for it.
