for that range I heard the Nikon 8397 ACULON rangefinder was good but I'm looking for something near 1000 yard capable.

I've been using the Trupulse models.
For just shooting the basic model 200 works well.

I want one that goes out to 1200yd but they seem to vary so price so much I'm afraid to cheap out and get something shit or alternatively waste money on something that can be had for cheap.

Sig Kilo 2000 is the best rangefinder out right now, by a lot.

I sold my Leice LRF, finally, after using the Sig for a few months. They would be worth 3 times the $400 they can be had for.

I ranged an elk at 1350 yards in light fog, with my Sig Kilo 2k.

My Leica LRF wouldn't do that at 700 yards.
